THE Walking Dead fans are convinced Daryl and Carol are in love and have begged bosses to get them together.

The characters are close friends in the hit AMC series, but fans are convinced there's more to their relationship than platonic friendship.

So much so, many fans have gave them the joint name Caryl and discussed their connection on Twitter alongside gifs and memes of them together.

One wrote: "Daryl is in love with Carol and Carol is in love with Daryl. Thats it , Thats the tweet. #Caryl."

Another added: "I've never seen anything as obvious as Daryl is in love with Carol #Caryl #Carylisedgame #TWD."

A third agreed, tweeting: "May Daryl and Carol be a couple! #Caryl."

A fellow Walking Dead fan pointed out Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) even referred to Carol (Melissa McBride) as Daryl's "girlfriend" in one scene.

They wrote: "Are people so ignorant to still think #Caryl isnt happening?????? There is nowhere in sh**creeks they wrote Negans girlfriend line as a mere throwaway.

"That line was written in there to confirm that its not just Carylers who see their love, but also characters on the show."

Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl, has previously shared his thoughts on his character's dynamic with Carol.

He said at a press conference for the show: "As far as romance, he already has a relationship with Carol, if thats what youre talking about.

"You know, never say never. I dont know, to be honest. Yeah, people want death and they want sex."
