The Walking Dead fans react to THAT unexpected twist – digitalspy.com

The Walking Dead delivered a shock twist, which resulted in an even more shocking death, in the latest episode of the horror drama that aired in the UK tonight (November 18).

For weeks now, Siddiq (Avi Nash) has been plagued by horrific flashbacks from when he was being held prisoner by Alpha (Samantha Morton) and her Whisperers.

During that time, the Alexandria medic was forced to witness several of his friends get beheaded by the hostile gang.

In one particular vision, Siddiq noticed that one of Alpha's followers had a habit of clicking their tongue, and back in the present, he realised that the reason people seemed to be getting sick in camp was because the water filtration system had been tampered with.

Later, while having a heart-to-heart with doctor Dante (Juan Javier Cardenas), Siddiq spotted him clicking his tongue revealing that the former was the one who held his head as his pals were being murdered and was now likely the mole that had been sabotaging Alexandria.

The pair fought, Dante ended up choking Siddiq to death and, well, fans were left stunned.

"Siddiq was such a sweet and awesome character! He also had a smashing head of hair, which I will miss," one joked, while another wrote: "I read about Siddiq's shocking death before it happened but the scene was so great. Avi Nash is such a talented actor and I look forward to seeing him in more projects. Incredible twist as well, huge change from the comics."

"I think his death is going to have some real consequences for the other characters. I think that's what's most important. That we serve the story in the best way possible," actor Nash previously told comicbook.com when discussing Siddiq's death.

"Whether that means you're in the show for one season or 10 seasons, it doesn't really matter."

The Walking Dead airs on Mondays at 9pm on FOX in the UK. You can also catch up on the show via NOW TV. In the US, the show airs on Sundays at 9/8c on AMC.
