The Walking Dead season 11 part 3 the fate of Oceanside – Undead Walking

In the midseason finale of The Walking Deads extended final season, the Commonwealth had taken over the communities of Alexandria, Hilltop and Oceanside, leaving our survivors without homes. Many of them had moved to the Commonwealth prior to the takeover, but what will happen to the ones who stayed back in these communities?

Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) is a power-hungry man who can never get ahead where Governor Pamela Milton (Laila Robins) is concerned. It seems no matter what he does, it is never good enough for her. In the season finale, we saw he was leading the takeover of the communities, but we have yet to learn if he has done this with or without Miltons consent or knowledge.

Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and her group took up residence at Hilltop, but it didnt appear there were many living there as it needed massive repairs. She declined Hornsbys offer of help, a fact he was not pleased about. On the other hand, Alexandria had several people in residence as it needed repairs but still had many livable homes. Aaron (Ross Marquand) had taken charge of Alexandria and tried his best to play nice with Hornsby and his plan for revitalizing the community.

By the end of the episode, Maggie, Aaron, Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Gabe (Seth Gilliam) had all taken up arms against the Commonwealth.

Viewers had seen nothing of Oceanside unit the end of part 2 of season 11. They had been absent from the storyline since season 10. Hornsby tried to make them an offer, the same one Aaron took, but they wanted to side with Maggie and wait until she made her decision. When she declined, Oceanside responded in kind.

Hornsby doesnt seem to be the type of person who gets told no often, and he was none too pleased by his offer being rejected by these communities. He saw an opportunity to be in charge of the three locations, something he could never achieve at the Commonwealth as the Miltons would never share in the leadership.

When the episode was closing, we saw Commonwealth flags and signs up at all three communities, and Hornsby was at Oceanside, watching the residents there being rounded up. He was also seen flipping his treasured coin, an act that showrunner Angela Kang confirmed was to decide the fate of the people living there.

In the recently released synopsis for episode 1118, A New Deal, which will air on October 9, one line reads:Aaron, Jerry, Lydia and Elijah get on the road to Oceanside to fill them in on a plan.

My question is, what will they discover when they arrive at Oceanside? Will they find an empty community? Or perhaps it will be overrun by walkers of the former residents, who were their friends. The trailer shows a clip with Aaron and Jerry in what appears to be a horde of walkers, and they are covered in guts. Another very dark scene shows this group fighting their way through many walkers. Is this a scene from Oceanside?

This is just something I observed while reading the synopsis for this episode. The scenes could be for something completely different. But, I am still very curious to find out what happened at Oceanside.
