The Walking Dead is one of the biggest shows on TV (even if ratings aren't what they were) but one of the stars said he'd rather have transitioned over to spin-off series Fear the Walking Dead, had his character not met a grisly end.

Jason Douglas played Tobin across four seasons on the show until he was brutally stabbed and infected in season 8. If he hadn't bit the bucket, Douglas would have liked to follow in the footsteps of Austin Amelio's Dwight and Lennie James' Morgan by crossing over.

The actor, who also voices the God of Destruction Beerus in Dragon Ball Super, told Fandom Spotlite: "I'm envious in a good way... When I think of Austin Amelio, he's a Texas guy. He's literally from Austin Austin from Austin.

"So he's going home at night, he's sleeping in his own bed and seeing his kids in the morning before he goes to set. How amazing is that? So yeah, I missed that one by a season or two, I guess."

He says he has no hard feelings, however, as he got to be in a tentpole show for over 20 episodes, which he considers "a good run".

Elsewhere in the interview, the star says production is still happening on My Hero Academia and RWBY and makes some interesting points about how he feels that the voiceover industry is going to move forward into remote recording in general.

The Walking Dead's season 10 finale will air as a special episode later this year on FOX in the UK. You can also catch up on the show via NOW TV. In the US, the show airs on AMC.
