‘The Walking Dead’ villains ranked by evilness: Negan, walkers … – Goldderby

With seven bloody seasons behind us, weve seen many different types of villains pop up on The Walking Dead, including those ever-persisting walkers. Who are the scariest big bads so far? And who, conversely, are the weakest? Click through our photo gallery above that lists all of The Walking Dead villains, ranked by their evilness. Can you guess whos #1? Well be back to update this gallery as new villains emerge in AMCs upcoming eighth season.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan joined The Walking Dead at the end of Season 6 and soon made a name for himself by killing off two fan favorites: Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz). When all is said and done, there is a good chance Negan could become the most well-known villain The Walking Dead will ever have. However, awards groups dont seem to be too scared of Negans portrayer, as Morgan won the Critics Choice Award for Best Guest Performer last year.

While Morgan is definitely the most well-known actor to play one of the shows villains, he may have a tough time getting nominated at the Emmys. A rule change two years ago limited the number of episodes one can appear in to less than 50%, which forces him to compete in the Best Drama Supporting Actor category instead of in the guest race. This will be quite the hurdle for Morgan to clear, as no performer from The Walking Dead has yet to receive an Emmy nomination.

Negan was left alive at the end of Season 7 and will hopefully play a big role in the first episode of Season 8, a.k.a. the 100th episode. One bar Morgan has yet to clear is a standalone episode dedicated to his character, like The Governor (David Morrissey) did with Season 4, Episode 7, titled Dead Weight. Yes, Morrissey also makes our lists of the greatest The Walking Dead villains ever.

The Walking Deads Emmy prospects could be looking up, especially for Best Prosthetic Makeup where its a past two-time winner (2011-2012). The show will not have to compete against Game of Thrones this year, which is the reigning two time-champ (2014, 2016). This should give the artists responsible for the ever-decaying walkers a chance to regain their crown. Of the six past seasons, The Walking Dead has been nominated for all but one year (2014).
