The Walking Deads Avi Nash has explained how his final wish on the zombie hit was deemed too extreme by showrunners.

In the midseason finale, the 29-year-olds character Siddiq was savagely killed off by Dante (Juan Javier Cardenas), when he discovered the doctor was one of Alphas spies.

Yet, after being strangled to death by the villain, the star made one last appearance in the post-apocalyptic show as a walker.

Dramatic scenes saw Dante leave the body in a study while he tried to kill Siddiqs girlfriend, Rosita (Christian Serratos).

And in an attempt to save their newborn baby, Coco, the proud mum hid the tot in a bath as she fought for her life against the Whisperer.

However, in a twist of events, Siddiq ended up turning into a zombie and chased the babys screams with the hope of a meal.

Launching himself towards the tub, Rosita managed to break free from Dantes grasp and saved her daughter before killing Siddiq for a second time.

But it turns out Avi had pitched an alternative ending for his character.

When chatting with Metro.co.uk ahead of the seasons return, the actor joked: You know what? I wish Id eaten that baby.

I was legitimately going to, not just because it was horrific, but also I was like, do you guys really want to act with another baby? Lets just go for it. Let me just do this right now.

But the showrunner Angela Kang wouldnt allow it to happen, with Avi adding: That was deemed too extreme already.

He then went onto discuss his exit, and it turns out a lot more went on behind the scenes than wed first thought.

There are a thousand ways that I wish it could have gone, he confessed: But frankly, Dante had the upper hand. He surprised Siddiq who hadnt slept for days.

Hes not sleeping, hes got PTSD, hes not in a good frame of mind to be fighting for his life.

Avi continued: When we shot the fight scene, it was definitely a bit longer and its been cut, but thats what always happens. With a show like this, you shoot more than you need and then you cut and trim and you refine it.

So sure, theres a tonne of stuff I wish we could have done and shown, but I think it probably came out in the best way possible.
