The Walking Deads World Beyond April release date confirmed but spin-off will only run for two seasons – The Sun

THE Walking Dead will launch its latest spin-off series in just a few months time.

World Beyond, which is set to track a set of teens who run away from the confines of their sheltered community, promises a more light, youth-centric take on the apocalypse.

According to AMC, the show will debut on Sunday April 12 at 10pm.

If that date sounds familiar, its because thats also when The Walking Dead season 10 will draw to a close.

The finale will run from 9pm to 10pm, followed immediately by the debut episode of World Beyond.

In the UK, the show will instead debut on Amazon Prime video.

World Beyond wont be taking a leaf out of the original series book with a long-term run, however.

In fact, it will only run for two series of 10 episodes each.

Season 2 will kick off production later this year with a 2021 release date.

Its thought the completion of the series will lead into the release of the Rick Grimes movie trilogy, which is thought to involve some crossovers with World Beyond.

The plot synopsis for World Beyond reads: Two sisters along with two friends leave a place of safety and comfort to brave dangers, known and unknown, living and undead on an important quest.

The Walking Dead season 10 resumed on FOX in the UK on April 24.
