Walking Dead boss addresses possibility of the series ending – digitalspy.com

The Walking Dead spoilers follow for season 10, episode 13 'What We Become'.

The Walking Dead chief content officer Scott M. Gimple still sees no end in sight for the series as it rounds the corner on its tenth season.

The AMC and FOX UK show may have just gone through another monumental cast departure this past weekend with the loss of Danai Gurira as Michonne, but that doesn't mean The Walking Dead itself is any closer to wrapping up its story arc.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter this week, Gimple insisted that ending the series in the next two seasons "isn't the plan" at least at the moment.

"But, we are living in very weird times," the producer admitted. "You have caught me in a moment where nothing feels real, so for all I know, it's going to become a puppet show next week.

"It'll be good, though. We'll have all the original actors using voices and they can do the puppetry from their own homes."

Gimple was referencing the news last week that all of the Walking Dead shows were forced to shut down production indefinitely, like so many others, because of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. The season 10 finale has since been delayed.

The franchise boss did hint that fans won't be left in the lurch completely: "We're kicking around some ideas to try and have some Walking Dead supportive fun for people stuck at home, to help keep people's spirits up.

"Hopefully we'll have more news about that soon."

The Walking Dead continues on Mondays at 9pm on FOX in the UK. You can also catch up on the show via NOW TV. In the US, the show continues on Sundays at 9/8c on AMC.
