Batman’s Army of Zombies is Taking Back The Planet | Screen Rant – Screen Rant

Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's Dark Nights: Death Metal is gearing up to be one wild ride. In a new preview for the upcoming post-apocalyptic story, Batman will be riding with his own army of zombies to take back the planet.

Snyder and Capullo's epic began withDark Nights: Metal, which saw the Batman Who Laughs and the rest of the Dark Multiverse wreak havoc in the DC Universe. The book led to a handful of spinoff titles includingThe Batman Who Laughs, The Batman Who Laughs: Grim Knight,as well as theYear of the Villainevent and multipleTales from the Dark Multiverse one-shots. The final chapter in the Metal saga will see the planet being consumed by the Dark Multiverse energy, as our heroes (including a Chainsaw of Truth wielding Wonder Woman) will fight to save earth from the grips of evil. It's appropriately, very metal.

DC Comics released their solicitations for May, which gave another glimpse of just how crazy things are about to get in the pages ofDark Nights: Death Metal. In the second issue of the miniseries, Swamp Thing and Wonder Woman will team up in a gnarly monster truck to drive across the remnants of the Dark Multiverse to find Batman. When the duo makes it to the Caped Crusader, who made a "ghoulish cemetery" his new home, they'll find out Bruce Wayne has an army of zombies at his disposal. There's going to be some animosity between the former Justice League members, as the world being ensnared by the Dark Multiverse and death constantly surrounding them surely playing a key part in their fractured relationship. Wonder Woman, Batman, and Swamp Thing will have to team-up (eventually with Superman, too) in order to save the planet.

Just how did Batman get his army of zombies? It's unclear at the moment. Hopefully, they aren't former Robin's (and other members of the Bat-Family), otherwise, he won't be so different from his Dark Multiverseenemy. However, sometimes you have to fight fire with fire, or in this case, the end of the world with zombies. Check out the full solicitation forDark Nights: Death Metal #2.
