Behind the Scenes of Zombies 2’s Hit Song – Zombies 2 We Got This – Seventeen.com

The premiere of Zombies 2 is nearly upon us (finally!), and if you haven't managed to get the DCOM's opening number, "We Got This," out of your head since the music video dropped earlier this month, then we've got great news for you.

Watch Zombies now

Seventeen can exclusively debut the behind-the-scenes video of the making of the cheer-tastic (wow, I'm so sorry about that one) song.

In keeping with the theme from the first film about inclusion and acceptance of everyone, this song shows Addison (Meg Donnelly) at cheer camp, proudly doing flips with humans and zombies alike. Meanwhile, Zed (Milo Manheim) is back at Seabrook, daydreaming about taking Addison to prawn Zombies' version of prom.

TBH, filming the cheer camp scenes looked like a blast. Actors got to ride zip-lines, play in a giant mud pit, and rock climb. Real talk, that mud pit is giving me serious Cadet Kelly vibes.

"The cheer moves are very complicated, because it has to be so precise and perfect," Meg says in the video. "But when you get it, it's so much fun."

Of the song, Milo said, "It gets you hype, and it gets you wanting to dance." He's not wrong; it's super catchy. Check out the video above.

And if you're like me and love watching how films get made, then you'll also enjoy what director Paul Hoen (who also directed the first Zombies, plus a myriad of other DCOMs and Disney Channel shows) posted on Instagram recently.

It's another behind-the-scenes take of "We Got This," this time from the director chair's POV. Zed and Zoey (Kingston Foster) are front and center in front of their house, with Zed eventually picking up his little sister during the dance number. Kingston shared how that moment was her "favorite part." Honestly, same.

Zombies 2 premieres on Friday, February 14 at 8 p.m. ET on Disney Channel.
