The Netflix Original series, The OA became a huge hit among fans. It first premiered on December 16, 2016. Since the first season, another season has followed suit, but fans are hoping for a third season. It is an American web mystery drama series, with elements of science fiction and fantasy.

The OA is created by Brit Marling and Zal Batmangjil and produced by Anonymous Content and Plan B Entertainment. Both the seasons of the series consists of eight episodes each. Originally, the creators of the show had planned the series to be a five-part story, which would be unveiled in 5 seasons. But Netflix announced that the series would not be back after two seasons.

The second season of the series released on March 22, 2019. Since then, there has been no news for the renewal of the show for season 3. Both the seasons of the series had received positive reviews from the viewers.

No official release date has been confirmed regarding The OA Season 3. On August 5, 2019, Netflix canceled the series after two seasons. I was leaving its fans heartbroken. Season 2 of The OA was considered to be the last and final season in the series. Although the finale of season 2, had ended on a cliffhanger.

Since the creators had planned the series to be a 5 season series, with the story being unfolded in 5 parts, we can still hope. The series might be picked up by some other streaming platform.

The woman, also known as Prairie Johnson, has mysterious scars on her back. Also, despite being unable to see when she went missing, she can now see. This raises suspicion and alarm among the people. She is resulting in investigations involving the FBI. Complications arrive when she refuses to communicate with her parents or the FBI.

The series follows her life throughout season 1 and 2. Since season 3 is canceled, not much can be said about the plot of the third season.

But, season 2 of the series was left on a cliffhanger, fans are hoping that the third season will begin from where it left off.
