The five movies are currently available to stream on Amazon Prime, and many people are taking advantage of that fact to revisit the hugely successful film series. Breaking Dawn Part 1 has Bella become pregnant with a half-vampire baby. The fetus is incompatible with her body, and her health rapidly declines as the baby grows. The inspiration for this particular kind of horror can be traced toRosemary's Baby, the iconic horror movie depicting a woman carrying a demon spawn. New Moondraws inspiration from Shakespeare'sRomeo and Julietin many ways. It's a continuation of Bella and Edward's love story, with a focus on the difficulties that come with them being together. The climax of the film occurs when Edward believes that Bella has killed herself, and he wants to kill himself as well.

Bella rushes to save him, preventing a tragedy Shakespeare's young lovers faced. The tone and style ofRomeo + Juliet is especially great for people who loveTwilight: it's unapologetically, earnestly emotional, over-the-top, campy, romantic, and full of teen angst.

Twilight is, first and foremost, a romance. So, it would make sense that people who love it would appreciate other great romances. The 2005 adaptation ofPride and Prejudiceis a sweeping, beautifully sentimental portrayal of two people with serious communication issues falling in love for the first time. Plus, fans of Edward will appreciate a character who helped make the brooding male lead a popular figure in romance, Mr. Darcy.

LikeTwilight,Let the Right One Inis a story about a human and a vampire coming to love one another. This Swedish film has younger protagonists and darker themes than we see in theTwilight saga. It manages to balance sweetness with horror, as the young vampire who befriends the human boy in this story poses a much greater threat to humankind than the "vegetarian" Cullens do. Despite the darker themes,Let the Right One Inis a touching story about loneliness and connection, told through the eyes of children.

Twilightshares some story elements withJane Eyre: both tell the story of a young woman who feels isolated and has recently relocated to a new place. Also, both women fallin love with a mysterious man who is harboring a dark secret. Both Bella and Jane are young and inexperienced, but aware of who they are and what they want.

They're drawn to Edward and Rochester, respectively, who feel things intensely, and are often not as forthcoming with information as they should be. Both are romances that are at times sad, but ultimately happy.

If, for you, the draw of theTwilightsaga comes from a wider interest in the YA genre, then perhapsThe Hunger Gamesis another series you'll enjoy. Spanning three books and four movies,The Hunger Gamesexplores coming-of-age themes and, likeEclipse, includes a love triangle.

The similarities stop there, however, as the backdrop is that of a dystopian future in which an authoritarian government forces children to kill each other. Katniss is also more concerned with leading a political revolution than surviving the supernatural. Nonetheless, both heroines are survivors who show strength in their own way.

Only Lovers Left Aliveis the specific kind of vampire romance that Edward Cullen would love. It's a moody, angsty, introspective look at immortality, love, and humankind. It explores various philosophical ideas through the story of two ancient vampires struggling to adapt to an increasingly modern world. It's a very different look at what eternal love can be than what we see in theTwilightsaga, but it's romantic nonetheless.

What We Do in the Shadowsis a comedy about a group of vampires making their way in the modern world. Written by and starring Taika Waititi, the movie allows viewers to laugh at vampire cliches. As endearingly earnest as theTwilightfilms are, they do contain enough comedy to offset the angst the characters are constantly feeling. For those who love to laugh (even if you don't likeTwilight),this movie should be the next one on your watchlist.

Kristen Stewart's performance in theTwilightmovies not only made her a household name, but infused the films with a sense of reality through her portrayal of Bella Swan. Shegives perhaps her greatest performance yet inPersonal Shopper, her second project with director Oliver Assayas. The sadness she showed inNew Moonis present here, as she plays a young woman looking for the ghost of her brother. It's a story of loss and the inability to let go.

If you like what Bill Condon did withBreaking Dawn Part 1andPart 2, then check out the 2017 live-action remake he directed ofBeauty and the Beast. Belle, like Bella, is an avid reader who is bored with the mundanity of her everyday life. This changes when she encounters the Beast, who poses a threat until the two fall in love. It's romantic, glittery, and very, very sweet.
