Alab falters to Mono Vampire in ABL – Panay News

MANILA San Miguel-Alab Pilipinas suffered another beating at the hands of Mono Vampire of Thailand, 102-89, in the 2019-2020 ASEAN Basketball League at the Caloocan Sports Complex.

Word reinforcement Nick King struggled to make fire for Alab after converting only just two out of his 17 field goal attempts for six points and also adding five turnovers.

Prince William and Samuel Deguara did their job for the now 6-4 Philippine ball club, with the former scattering 23 points, three rebounds, three steals, and two assists, while the latter tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Alab Pilipinas had a flat start as they went down by as much as 16 points at 52-36 late in the second quarter, but the gunnery of William, Deguara and Jeremiah Gray trimmed the deficit to 70-77.

For Mono Vampire, Thai-American Tyler Lamb, however, converted six straight points to restore order, adding his teammates Freddie Lish, Michael Morrison, and Mike Singletary put the finishing touches that stretched the advantage to 102-85.

Mono, which currently stands with a 9-3 record, was bannered by Morrison and Singletary with 23 points each. Morrison added nine boards, while Singletary also tallied eight rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and two blocks.

The two teams will slug it all out one last time in tonights elimination round in Stadium 29, Bangkok, Thailand./PN
