Will Buffy the Vampire Slayer ever be brought back to life? While many loyal fans would welcome a reboot, the cast has mixed feelings about a potential revival.

The stars of the late 90s teen sci-fi series reunited thanks toEntertainment Weekly for the shows 20th anniversary and the idea of a reboot quickly came up. But Sarah Michelle Gellar, who famously played Buffy Summers, didnt seem completely enthusiastic about picking up the stake again.

At a certain point, when things are magical, you dont want to go back and Godfather III it right? she joked to the magazine. Im sure the fans are incredibly disappointed to hear that answer, but I think theyd be more disappointed if we created something and it didnt live up to the expectation because the expectation is so incredibly high. And I love that it can live in comic form and graphic novels. There are so many worlds it can live in.

Alyson Hannigan, who starred as witch Willow Rosenberg in the show, said that a cartoon would be a good option for a reboot. Charisma Carpenter, who appeared as Cordelia Chase, didnt reject the idea.

I think the fans would just go crazy if something like that would happen, she explained. "It would just make so many people happy.

The one person who didnt completely rule out the possibility of a Buffy revival was the shows creator, Joss Whedon.

Everything sort of finds its way back somewhere, he said. Ive been trying deliberately to move forward and do something a little bit different. But yeah, the great thing is everybody looks great, and the other great thing is the show is about growing up.

"If we did it with these guys, theyd be the age they basically are. Theyd probably play a little younger because they can do that. But yeah, youd see somebody going through their life at a different stage. It wouldnt be like, I cant believe were still in high school! I wear Depends!
