Ezra Koenig Gives Update on New Vampire Weekend Album … – Pitchfork

Vampire WeekendfrontmanEzra Koenighas given an update on the bands next album.On Instagram, he writes, every day I get comments & questions about the next Vampire Weekend album. obviously, we gotta take our time & get it right but the fans deserve some information. He then provides a timeline that begins with the release of their amazing 2013 albumModern Vampires of the City, and includes a year of touring in 2014, a mental health year in 2015, writing LP4, long days in the library researching w/ the grad students in 2016, and recording this year. Koenig addsthat, in 2015, he worked on a vibey project youll hear abt soon. Read his full note below.

Vampire Weekends fourth album will be the bands first without Rostam Batmanglij, who announced his departure from the band in January 2016. In his note about Rostams departure, Koenig first revealed the next albums working title,Mitsubishi Macchiato, which he says is still in place cuz it is a helpful concept.
