There is simply no getting around the fact that The Vampire Diaries is one of the best TV shows to grace our televisions ever! The Vampire Diaries ran from September 10, 2009, to March 10, 2017. It even got it on spin-off The Originals. Everything about this show was magical and special. It revolves around the intense lives of humans, vampires, and werewolves. It even included some witches! There was nothing that this supernatural TV show was lacking.

Every episode was filled with romance and actionand it was enough to make this show a total hit. The cast of this show includes Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Candice King, and Kat Graham. Find out what all of these amazing actors had to say about their time starring on such an incredible show like The Vampire Diaries. The cast of this show definitely had a lot to say.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter,Nina Dobrev said,"The fairy tale has to end, and the next chapter has to begin.I knew this was my time, and I'm excited for the next step." She described her time on the show as being a fairytale which says a lot! She loved her time playing Elena Gilbert.

Paul Wesley explained, "Stefan and Elena were such the pair for so many years and I never in a million years thoughts Caroline and Stefan would end up being that kind of -- I dont want to say true love because I think true love can exist in many forms -- but I never knew that they would be equally as powerful as a couple. So it was equally surprising to me." Viewers were also shocked that Caroline and Stefan linked up but it was the rightdirection for the show to go in.

Ian Somerhalder said, "Damon and Bonnie really are, in ways, cut from very similar cloth. Damon and Bonnie have a really cool dynamic. Theyre pretty funny together. I remember shooting that scene where theyre dancing together, and I remember saying, 'Wow, that really works!'" We enjoyed seeing Damon and Bonnie try things as a couple!

In an interview, Kat Graham said, "I always knew the show was going to work even from the pilot because I had shot about five pilots and none of them had ever gone through. And there was way too much money that was put into this pilot. It was this unparalleled support that I hadnt seen from a network." We love that the show ended up being such a hit!

Nina Dobrev said, "People made videos of what was in their opinion the best moments of the last six years. It helped me relive the last six years, and be nostalgic, grateful and look back at those moments and celebrate this experience as it ends, instead of mourn it after I left." We're glad she celebrated the good moments from the show.

Paul Wesley explained, "Its just a culmination of so many emotions. Youre like, 'OK, this is the last script Im ever going to read for this show.' I got a bit teary-eyed and Im kind of a cold-hearted b*stard." It would make just about any actor or actress feel emotional to read the last script of a long-lasting series.

In an interview, Kat Graham said, "Overall, I am appreciative of the opportunity that I got to play different levels and different emotions for this character. Im grateful for the platform I got." We are so glad that Kat Graham is the actress that was chosen to play the role of Bonnie on TVD.

Nina Dobrev said, "There were daily challenges, there were yearly challenges, there were character challenges. The whole show was challenging in different ways throughout the six years. The multiple characters, the hours, creating characters, deaths. I was constantly crying, it felt like. But for that reason, it kept me occupied, I was never bored, it never felt stale."

In an interview, Candice King said, "This job surpassed all of my very high expectations. To say that it was life-changing would be an understatement. From Season 1 to Season 8, I appreciated the twists and turns of Carolines storyline. It made going to work an adventure." We love that Candice loved being on the show!

In an interview, Ian Somerhalder said, "Damon has had a very fun time for a very long time. Damons had a great run. Hes had a lot of great lines, hes had a lot of great scenes, theres been a lot to do, and I learned a lot. I learned a great deal playing this character and navigating the waters of being on a big global hit network series."

Kat Graham said, "I'm really like Bonnie in terms of the relationship she has with her friends. She's protective over her friend Elena, and the real-life relationship between Nina [Dobrev] and myself is the same; I would do anything for her, we're really close. Bonnie is caring, and she's compassionate, and she's very much like me in that way." Bonnie was a very likable character on the show.

After leaving the show and seeing that it was going to continue on without her,Nina Dobrev said, "I have nothing but love for every single person there. The show must go on, and it is going on, and I'm excited to see what next season is going to be like." We are glad that there were no hard feelings when she parted ways.

In an interview, Candice King said, "The writers have kept Caroline interesting over the years. I am grateful that shes always had a very strong arc. Even in moments where that arc has been in support of another character and what another characters processing, I feel like its been beneficial to Caroline growing as an individual."

Ian Somerhalder said, "A lot of stuff that Damon goes through is super-cathartic for me, as an individual, and its not always pretty. Youre muddying the water, all the time. Youre pulling from all these things in your life that are not necessarily good. Its basically like getting paid for therapy." It is incredible that Ian Somerhalder felt that way.

In an interview, Nina Dobrev said, "It was easy to get back into character for the finale. I played Elena for six years, so I jumped right back into it. Theres a lot of Elena in me, so it was easy to join the family back up and pick up where we left off." When Nina Dobrev showed up for the finale, it made fans go crazy with happiness!

Kat Graham said, "I love Nina's hair because she's got this really shiny, gorgeous hair, and Candice has a very full, blonde head of hairI'm going to tie them for best hair!"Kat gave a very diplomatic answer without really choosing between her two friends but her answer was honestly very correct! Both Nina and Candice have great hair.

In an interview, Candice King said, "So playing a vampire, Ive been able to be a part of a lot of stunts and locations and blood and gore and prosthetics things that you wouldnt normally do in a non-supernatural series." she is totally right that most other TV shows do not include as many cool stunts or prosthetics.

In an interview, Ian Somerhalder said, "For me, season 1 was just the pinnacle for Damon. That was the apex of the ability of this character to shine through the story. I loved a lot of that stuff. That stuff was really fun. All the stuff with Damon and Vicki, the dancing in the Salvatore house." Season one truly was a great season for the character of Damon.

Kat Graham said, "We have a different style. Bonnie has this great style, it's very hippy/earthy, and I'm more like a high-fashion city girl. I'm really into platforms, she's really into flats. She's also into embroidered shirts which I love but Bonnie's are more of an earthy version. I like to go for the leggings and baggy tank top. I'm more like a hipster."Kathas a great style all on her own.

In an interview, Candice King said, "Im very satisfied. I know the ending has shifted over the years but I was so happy reading the finale. Julie and Kevin did a great job bringing eight seasons to a close. I think fans of the series will be fulfilled and teary-eyed watching it." We love the way show ended too!
