King in Black: Venom’s DARK God Forces the Heroes to Team Up with Marvel’s WORST – CBR – Comic Book Resources

As the heroes' initial defenses to stop Knull's symbiote invasion fail disastrously, they turn to unlikely figures to form a desperate alliance.

Two issues in and things are quickly going from bad to worse for the Marvel superheroes in the crossover event King in Black. Despite setting up orbital defenses in anticipation of Knull's symbiote invasion and the Avengers setting up an epic last stand in the heart of New York City, the dark god has easily brushed aside all resistance as he scours the planet for Dylan Brock due to the young boy's ability to control symbiotes. And as fragile alliances crumble and the defeated heroes are forced to retreat and regroup, the Avengers decide to set aside differences and reach out to some of their greatest enemies and form a coalition against Knull as the symbiotes steadily overtake the planet.

Rebuffed by Professor X and Magneto from receiving additional support from Krakoa after several X-Men were routed and absorbed by Knull's forces, the heroes grow increasingly desperate for reinforcements to marshal against the building evil.As Namor enters the Baxter Building where the heroes are sheltered with his own offer to pitch in, Blade leaves for a desperate mission while Iron Man makes a direct call to the recently elected Mayor of New York City: Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin. And while turned down by Krakoa, the heroes note that they have the support of Phil Coulson and the Squadron Supreme of America to bolster their ranks for the inevitable rematch against Knull and his fiendish army.

Blade's risky mission is revealed to be for a reunion with Dracula, as the vampire lord has reclaimed the throne of the undead lurking in the shadows across the Earth. Blade comes not with threat but rather with a shocking request to his longtime nemesis: Rally the vampires to help Earth's Mightiest Heroes to overthrow Knull and drive him from the planet. Similarly, Tony Stark's call to Kingpin wasn't for urban planning in the face of a symbiote apocalypse but to have Wisk issue a call to arms to New York's criminal element for their support, with the mayoral crime lord appearing at the shady Bar with No Name to recruit volunteers promising a huge payday for those interested.
