Legacies Reveals First Look at the Return of Vampire Diaries’ Kai Parker – CBR – Comic Book Resources

As the second spinoff series to The Vampire Diaries, Legacies has seen several characters from the original television series and its first spinoff The Originals return. However, second season of The CW series is about see the arrival of one The Vampire Diaries' most memorable villains: Kai Parker.

The CW has released the first official still of Kai's return via Entertainment Weekly, with Chris Wood reprising his role as Kai, a member of the twisted Gemini coven and uncle of Legacies' main characters Josie and Lizzie Saltzman. Kai's return begins inLegacies Season 2's twelfth episode, aptly titled "Kai Parker Screwed Us."

Kai's return was foreshadowed earlier this season by old footage MG discovered on a camcorder, with Kai appearingin the form of a brief cameo. Another clue to Kai's return waspresentin the Season 2 premiere, with the Saltzman twins discovering the Ascendant, a mythical relic that had kept Kai trapped in a pocket dimension for his evil deeds during The Vampire Diaries.

With Kai wielding a large machete, it looks like his impending freedom signals bloody times ahead for Mystic Falls, with the Saltzmans' reunion with their long-lost uncle sure to be an unpleasant one.

Airing Thursdays at 9 pm ET on The CW, Legacies stars Danielle Rose Russell as Hope Mikaelson, Jenny Boyd as Lizzie Saltzman, Kaylee Bryant as Josie Saltzman, Quincy Fouse as Milton Greasley/MG, Aria Shahghasemi as Landon Kirby, Peyton Alex Smith as Rafael Waithe and Matt Davis as Alaric Saltzman.
