Shayna Baszlers vampire bite was inspired by a WWE Hall Of Famer – Wrestling News

Shayna Baszler drew some inspiration from a WWE Hall Of Famer when she attacked Becky Lynch and bit her neck on Raw last night.

Dave Meltzer noted that the bite seemed to be inspired by Paul Heyman, who was a huge fan of Classy Freddie Blassie. Meltzer said, this has to be Heyman because one of the guys who Heyman idolized was Freddie Blassie. This was 1970s Freddie Blassie with the biting and the blood and all of that.

Meltzer was correct about that because Baszler later posted a photo of Blassie biting his opponent during a match from the 70s. It shows that angles that were done decades ago can still have an impact today if they are done correctly.

As previously noted, this was the set up for Baszler challenging Lynch for the Raw Womens Championship at WrestleMania. Baszler is now officially part of the main roster.
