If you are a fan ofVampire Diaries, I already know that youve been here for a pretty long time. The show has been here since forever!

It started airing around 2009 on the CW and pushed its the eighth season out by 2017. Since the entire series is based on books from LJ going by the same name, readers are in advantage too.

The story goes in the same mysterious way, in Mystic Town back in 18th century. It all starts when Elena, an orphaned teenager, falls within love with a vampire. Yes, he is 150+ years old (the vampire essence).

Though the plot mostly revolves around them, some other consecutive storylines proceed along with the main one too. All this takes place in the town, however, and rarely extends on other lands.

Since the season is not confirmed, no new cast members or future plotlines are being talked about.

The CW is very keen on keeping matters to itself unless it is confirmed. The directors and creators of the show did not look comfortable in making a season 9. Theyre tired after 171 episodes, dont you think?

Whatever be the reason, there arent any confirmed news about another season. They didnt even tell us that this is the last one, the director hinted on how 8th means almost the end but we never know for sure.

If the season renews for 9, they will probably have to do a lot of filming before that. In situations like this, filming will be hard. End of 2021 can be the perfect date for new releases, dont you think?
