There are many TV series that TVD fans can check out, butTVDis so special because it created a magical, supernatural world that is so captivating.

The Cure will stop someone from being immortal, which will also transform them from a vampire to a human.

According toVampire Diaries Fandom, a witch named Qetsivah came up with The Cure, and the idea is that when vampires or other creatures who are immortal are given the Cure, they become human again. This means, of course, that they can die. There are two other spells: the Immortality Reversal Spell (called a "second cure") and a spell that includes blood from Elena Gilbert and Stefan Salvatore, the two doppelgngers. When a vampire consumes this blood and they are also under the spell, they won't be a vampire any longer.

Many fans ofThe Vampire Diariesthink that The Cure is pretty confusing and that the explanation seems to change pretty regularly.

As a fan shared onReddit, "We can all agree that the cure is a mess. It was confusing the first time they introduced it, and now it's even worse."

The fan explained that while at first, someone would need to be drained of all their blood, thatseemed to change and the characters could just use one syringe. The fan explained, "But, according to this logic, one person with the cure in the body can lead to the multiple doses. And if not, what if the person loses a lot of blood? Does it mean that the cure is lost?" There are no easy answers for these questions.

In the eighth season ofThe Vampire Diaries, fans started to seea different explanation of how the Cure works.

According toFansided.com, Bonnie was interested in Enzo having The Cure, which Damon didn't love. The rules state that someone has to be drained of their blood. Damon didn't love the idea of draining his pal Enzo, as he would have to murder him.

Bonnie is somehow able to use one syringe of The Cure on Stefan, but that doesn't make sense because, as the website explains, Bonnie doesn't drain Elena. When The Cure was first introduced on the show, the explanation was that someone would have to be drained of their blood.

Now that Stefan had The Cure but didn't have his blood drained, he would become very old very fast. AsFansided.comexplained, "Instead Stefan Salvatore is now mortal. So, if just a single syringe filled with the cure now works, what is to stop every vampire on The Vampire Diaries from taking the cure? Well, everyone other than Caroline, who loves being a vampire."

The Cure isalso part of the spin-off ofThe Vampire Diaries,The Originals.

In the series finale, the characterRebekah took The Cure, and Julie Plec, the show's executive producer, talked toTV Lineabout how some fans weren't quite sure what had happened.

Plec said, "Its because [the cure is] in Damon. Damon Salvatore needs to grow old and have babies and grandbabies and great-grandbabies with Elena Gilbert-Salvatore. At the end of their long Notebook life, when they die side by side when theyre ready to go, hell hand the cure over to Rebekah. When you take the cure out of a former vampire whos taken the cure, they age [rapidly] and die. Basically, when Damons ready to go which is when Elena is ready to go thats when Rebekah will get the cure.

While the rules of The Cure can definitely be confusing and tough to understand, as it seems like they were altered as the show progressed, it's still a really cool and interesting part of the show. No matter what, it's not easy being a human or a vampire in Mystic Falls.
