The Vampire Diaries: Which Main Character Are You According to Your MBTI? – Screen Rant

Are you, or were you, a huge fan of The Vampire Diaries on The CW? The supernatural romance had a little something for everyone, so it's no wonder the show went on for eight seasons before finally coming to an end.

And one of the reasons the series lasted so long is due to its great characters. Whether you were a Damon fan, a Stefan fan, an Elena fan, or a Bonnie fan, there were plenty of people on the show to form lasting attachments to. But which one is most like you in terms of personality? If you know your MBTI, you can find out which character on The Vampire Diaries matches you best!

Damon Salvatore is definitely an ESFP, or "The Performer." He is a loose cannon who will pretty much do whatever he wants whenever he wants, no matter how it affects other people.

Damon's personality and behavior changes as the series progresses and he becomes more of a good guy than an antagonist, but he has always been effortlessly charming with an air of danger around him that can't be tamed.

Elena is easily an INFP because she is very much the "mom friend." She cares deeply and passionately about her friends and her family. Elena is the type of person to sacrifice herself for those she loves.

Her empathy is one of the main reasons so many people fall in love with her. Elena's idealism and inclination to help people has made her a lovable heroine and an excellent friend.

INFJ personalities are known for being "nurturers," and they're often looked to for counsel. If that description fits anyone on The Vampire Diaries, it's Bonnie Bennett. Bonnie is frequently having to come to the rescue of her many friends. She is strong-willed, creative, and very compassionate.

However, she can be a little judgmental from time to time. And with that said, she holds strong to her morals and does whatever it takes to take care of people who can't take care of themselves.

When the series begins, Tyler is pretty much your stereotypical jock character. However, as the show progresses, he begins to change and grow into an independent and intelligent young man.

Tyler is sadly forced into leadership roles through tragic circumstances due to his family curse of being a werewolf, as well as the many family deaths he's faced at the hands of people like Klaus Mikaelson. He can be quiet and reserved at times, but he's always thinking and strategizing. He learns to stay on his toes in order to survive.

Stefan Salvatore has a very creative and old soul. Considering he was born centuries before the series actually begins, it's not surprising that he would feel in touch with things from the past like F. Scott Fitzgerald novels, William Shakespeare, and the lost art of diary writing.

Stefan is very low-key, and this personality type is definitely contrasted strongly against his brother Damon who likes to create drama more often than not. Stefan is soft-spoken, but still likes to have fun and be spontaneous and romantic when the occasion arises.

There is no other personality type quite as fitting for Caroline Forbes than the ESFJ, also known as "The Provider." Caroline is very energetic and outgoing, sometimes to a fault, in that she can say things without filtering her thoughts.

Yet she also undergoes tremendous growth and character development throughout the series and truly becomes attuned to the needs of her loved ones. Caroline is the type of person to know what you need before you need it, although that can sometimes manifest in bossiness and controlling behavior.

Jeremy is not a very outspoken kind of guy. He's like his sister in that he likes to keep to himself, although unlike Elena, Jeremy is not prone to being forthcoming with his feelings.

Instead, he often internalizes his problems and then uses them to push himself into impulsive and sometimes dangerous situations. Jeremy likes to take matters into his own hands and figure out solutions to complex problems on his own terms, even if the end results are not always positive.

Matt Donovan fits "The Protector" personality perfectly. Poor Matt, he's the only human left in Mystic Falls by the end of the series. The guy has seen some crazy stuff in his time and it's a wonder that he manages to come out the other side in one piece.

In spite of his weakness as a human, he still does whatever he can to protect his friends. Even at home, he was always the caretaker due to the negligence of his mother and the wild ways of his sister Vicki. Matt experienced profound loss, but was always willing to persevere in the face of harsh reality.

If you are cunning, quick on your feet, and excellent at thinking several steps ahead of most people around you, then congratulations, you're an ENTJ and you are very similar in personality to Katherine Pierce.

Of course, Katherine is a villain on the series most of the time, so your powers can be put to good or to bad uses, but Katherine's main goal is always just to survive. To do so, she must remain vigilant in surveying her surroundings and making quick readings on any given scenario or person. You never know when an ally can turn on you.

Alaric is "The Teacher" personality, and not just because he actually is a teacher -- first in history at Mystic Falls High and then as a headmaster at the Salvatore Boarding School on Legacies. He has always been a pillar of support for the people he cares about whether that be Jenna, Elena, his daughters, or even Damon.

Alaric has ideas of how to make the world around him a better place and he finds value in sharing those ideas with other people. He likes to nurture raw talent and let people grow within the fields that let them best express themselves. He is very giving and can also function as a caretaker in most situations, although he can also be very stubborn at times.
