There always seems to be an endless stream of vampire shows airing on television. It's a genre that never goes out of style. Shows like True Blood and The Vampire Diaries were highly popular and amassed a huge fan base during their time.

In Decemberof last year, Netflix released a new original vampire show called V-Wars. If you had a giant crush on Ian Somerhalder during his time as Damon Salvatore, then this show is for you. Somerhalder is back as Dr.Luther Swann as he and his best friend are on the brink of a fractured society caused by an ancient virus turning people into vampires and climate change. How well did the first season do? IMDb has ranked the shows first season's episodes.

In epsidoes two of the season, Luther is in deep trouble. Luther is under arrest and being charged for a murder he didn't commit. Meanwhile, his best friend Michael Fayne (Adrian Holmes) is on the hunt for new victims. Kaylee (Jacky Lai), a reporter, starts her own investigation and suspects Michael of being a vampire.

Luther comes to the realization that the virus is spreading at a much faster rate than anticipated. As the dots are getting connected, Luther is coerced to help in figuring out the virus due to his vast knowledge of the subject. As the episode closes, audiences learn who patient zero is.

In episodefive, the Bloods, a vampire faction, are growing in numbers. Meanwhile, General May (Jonathan Higgins) takes over the DNS as Luther speaks to Calix (Peter Outerbridge), a scientist at a lab facility.

As General May calls out the vampire terrorists, Michale reveals himself to be patient zero. The DNS raid a vampire hideout that results in Danika (Kimberly-Sue Murray) breaking free. Michael brings in new ranks that will benefit their cause. Luther learns that the virus might be genetic but hides it from the DNS.

Following episode five, episode six starts with Luther trying to save his son Dez (Kyle Breitkopf) as Micahel's situation only becomes stronger. General May grills Luther until he's convinced to keep him alive. Luther is a better asset alive seeing as he is the only one who can find the predator gene.

It turns out that Calix knew of Luther's secret about Dez. As Luther tries to escape, he is cornered by Calix. Calix is confident Luther will be the one to find the cure but leaves him deserted in the middle of nowhere with a predator.

Jumping ahead to episode eight, Luther finds Dez at an internment camp and is taken under FBI jurisdiction. He tells the Senator (Laura de Carteret) that the DNS was responsible for the bomb at their facility. He also discusses the immunity of the disease, as he and Dez were cured.

A live stream from Kaylee's Revealeaks, the world holds their breath as they learn new truths and get an exclusive interview with Micahel and his plans for the Bloods. When Luther testifies against the DNS, he sees Calix in the room and hesitates about telling the truth.

In episode one, with climate change worsening, Dr. Luther delivers a presentation at a global summit of the dangers of viruses releasing from melting polar ice. He is informed of an incident in the Arctic. He and Michael go investigate and find a disturbing scene. They discover a smashed petri dish and blood. They fear they were exposed to a toxin and go into quarantine.

They start to experience heightened senses but are led to believe its just a cold. Back home, Michael starts to fantasize about biting his girlfriend's neck and hearing voices from far away. Two reporters Kaylee and Yergen (Teddy Moynihan) find the lack of blood at multiple murders to be the work of vampires. Luther later returns home to his wife and son, but things turn for the worst as one of them is infected.

The FBI takes over the murder investigations in episode three and believes Michaelis responsiblefor the six murders. Michael realizes that he has to get off the grid and escape before they capture him. Meanwhile, Luther learns that the virus is spreading much faster and they need to find a cure quickly.

Kaylee is still on the hunt for information and visits Lutehr's ex-wife and coerces her into giving up incriminating information. Luther confronts his ex-wife. Back at the facility, Luther is given the remains of his wife as Micahel is escaping the police through the forest. Luther decides to find Michael himself but receives a text from him saying toleave the forest.

In episode four, Bobby, a vampire hunter, tracks down Michael after someone else in their group is killed by vampires. Luther convinces Claire of the FBI to let him find Michael on his own. Kaylee learns that she and her partner have been tracked and are taken in by the DNS.

Luther finds Michael ina remote cabin and tries to convince him to come back to the facility to find a cure. Michael is too enthralled with his new abilities and feels no remorse for what he's done. Michael runs off after a sniper is found in the distance. He is approached by the Bloods and is told he is patient zero. As the episode closes, the DNS facility explodes.

Luther returns home in episode seven to try and find Dez, unaware that he is being tracked and hunted. Luthersees people being rounded up and taken but is saved by Jimmy (Michael Greyeyes), an FBI agent undercover as a hunter with Bobby. Michael gathers his troops as the government mobilizes.

Kaylee's car breaks down and comes face to face with the Bloods and is taken to Michael. Instead of taking up her offer, they start to torture her. As Luther continues to look for Dez, Dez is taken by a rogue vampire. Luther and Jimmy travel to an internment camp for the infected and find Dez.

Episode nineof the season is short but holds a lot of storylines. As Luther debated on whether or not to testify the truth, Michaelis watching looking for an opportunity to strike. As this occurs, Dez and Amelie go investigate odd noises coming from the basement to only find numerous dead rats.

Michael and Luther come face to face in order to come up with a truce. Meanwhile, audiences learn that the Senator's daughter, Amelie is a vampire and the creature in the basement. Michael's condition is worsening and Luther urges him to come to a truce. In another secret basement, Calix undergoes an experimental procedure that could turn him a vampire.

Taking first place with one of the highest rankings is the last episode of the season. Luther and the Senator announce a new product that would help the infected, BludSub. Michael's condition worsens and is unable to feed. The Senator and Luther discover that Amelie is a vampire and promises herthey willfind a cure. The BludSub was poisoned by Calix, who is now a vampire.

The Bloods take action and surround Luther and Dez at their home. They kidnap Dez and open fire. Luther wakes up to find Calix the new leader of the Bloods. Calix has infected the water supply with the virus exposing millions. Months later, Luther gears up to find Dezand put a stop to Calix.
