Vampire Diaries Stars’ New Company Is A Salute To The Salvatore Brothers – Screen Rant

The Vampire Diaries stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley reveal the name of their new company and it's a reference to the Salvatore brothers.

Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, former stars of The CWs hit series The Vampire Diaries, have started a new bourbon company called Brothers Bond Bourbon which is a tribute to their characters on the show. For all eight seasons of The CW series, Wesley and Somerhalder played vampire brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore respectively.

The Vampire Diaries, created by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, premiered in 2009 and was a juggernaut show for the CW,launching multipleVampire Diariesspin offs, includingThe OriginalsandLegacies,during and after its run.The Vampire Diariesrecently celebrated its 10 year anniversary, and the cast celebrated by reminiscing on some of their favorite episodes of The Vampire Diaries from the shows eight season run. Now, two of the show's main stars are honoring their time on The Vampire Diaries in a new way.

On Twitter,Ian Somerhalder,who was a part of The Vampire Diaries not only by playingDamon,but directing and producing multiple episodes, announced the release ofthenew bourbon. The tweet features a picture of Somerhalder holding a bottle bearing his and Wesley's signatures. Check out the tweet below.

Somerhalder has been teasing the bourbon's release since last September, when he wrote, Can you imagine if the Salvatores had their OWN bourbon?" As fans of The Vampire Diaries know, bourbon is actually the perfect venture for the actors who played the Salvatore brothers.Many episodes of the series do indeed feature theSalvatore brothers drinking bourbon, partly because it helps stave off their craving for human blood. This fact, along with Damons party friendly lifestyle, made it not uncommon to see a bottle of expensive bourbon in the background of any The Vampire Diaries scene.

Early in the series, sharing a bottle of bourbon was one of the only activities the vampire brothers could manage together, other than a mutual feeling of animosity, mostly due to Damon Salvatore's villainous demeanor. However, as the show went on, the relationship between them deepened. Originallycentered on the love triangle between Stefan, Damon, and Elena, the focus of The Vampire Diaries shifted after Nina Dobrev left the show at the end of season 6. Thereafter,The Vampire Diaries became much moreaboutthe bond between brothers Stefan and Damon. The emotional final scene of the series culminated in the brothers greeting each other in the Salvatore mansion and embracing, highlighting their relationship that persisted throughout the series.With three yearshaving past sinceThe Vampire Diaries series finale, Brothers Bond Bourbon really is the perfect way to keep the legacy of the Salvatore brothers alive.
