What We Do In The Shadows puts a hilarious spin on vampire mythology, and these ten great episodes are the best of the bunch!

FX's hit mockumentary-comedy television show, What We Do in the Shadows, was recently renewed for a third season after two excellent seasons. Based on the hilarious movie of the same name (which was written and directed by showrunners Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement), the show is known for its hilarious premise and funny characters.

The show revolves around four vampire roommates, Nandor, Laszlo, and Nadja and Colin Robinson, who live with their familiar, Guillermo. The show has received critical acclaim and has been nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series in the 2020 Emmy Awards.

Nandor, Laszlo, Colin Robinson, and Nadja are invited to a "Superb Owl" (see: Superbowl) Party by their neighbor Shaun. When Shaun jokingly calls them vampires, Nandor and Laszlo hypnotize him and accidentally give him "brain scramblies", which leaves him confused and dazed.

Nadja accuses Shaun's elderly mother (who she used to babysit decades ago) of stealing her jade necklace and proceeds to ransack the house for it. Meanwhile, Guillermo, searching for virgins, runs into a group of vampire hunters who invite him into their group.

When a werewolf urinates on Laszlo's bushes, the vampires set a trap and manage to catch a werewolf. The vampires and werewolves honor an agreement that the strongest vampire and strongest werewolf would battle to settle the fight. Nandor is chosen and manages to defeat Toby the werewolf by throwing a squeaky toy off the roof, which Toby jumps after.

Meanwhile, Colin Robinson discovers his new office colleague, Evie, is an energy vampire. After they have a psychic battle, they decide to date but ultimately break up after Colin realizes the relationship is an unhealthy one.

Guillermo has his roommates and his own DNA tested and discovers he is the direct descendant of the mythical Van Helsing family, known for hunting vampires. Throughout the episode, he keeps accidentally injuring Nandor and has irrational thoughts about becoming a vampire hunter.

Gregor, Nadja's lover, who has been reincarnated as a man named Jeff, returns to visit her, but just like in every previous life, he gets decapitated by Laszlo. The finale left a hilarious cliffhanger after revealing Guillermo's vampire-hunting ancestry when he accidentally pierces a wooden stake through the vampire's portraits.

After the vampires' new familiar, Topher (played by Haley Joel Osment of The Sixth Sense fame) accidentally dies from being electrocuted in the koi pond, the vampires enlist the help of Wallace the Necromancer, played by Benedict Wong, to resurrect him.

However, they get more than what they traded for when Topher comes back to life as a zombie.The now-undead Topher keeps trying to eat Guillermo. When he attempts to drown Guillermo in the pond, Nandor rescues him, and Topher is ultimately returned to Wallace for a refund.

After Nandor receives a spam chain mail containing a "curse from Bloody Mary" ordering him to forward it to 10 other people. Thinking themselves to be cursed, the vampires take Colin's help to find 10 suitable email addresses.

Meanwhile, Guillermo's group of vampire hunters find what they think is a vampire residence where they find a family of vampires. The vampires attempt to eat everyone, but Guillermo manages to save most of them and run away, and they drive away in the van, horrified.

Laszlo gets visited by Jim, a vampire he owes money to. Jim demands Laszlo to either repay his money or fight him in a duel, and Laszlo agrees to the latter. However, when Jim's back is turned, he flees, all the way to Pennsylvania. Jackie assumes the identity of a bar owner, Jackie Daytona.

He becomes popular with the townspeople after he becomes involved in supporting the local women's volleyball team, even hosting a fundraiser for them. Everything goes wrong, however, when Jim shows up. Laszlo, who becomes a more kind-hearted person from living his life as Jackie, gives Jim a gift who calls off the debt, and Laszlo returns home after making Jim the team's coach.

When the Baron awakens from his slumber, he wishes to experience a night out in the town, much to the vampires' displeasure, and they plan to kill the Baron, fearing for their own lives. The Baron becomes increasingly drunk when he drinks the blood of drunk humans, which leads to him bonding with the vampires.

After a night of misadventures, the vampires reach the house as dawn approaches, and the drunk Baron tries to dodge the sunlight coming through the attic. He falls down the stairs and is burned to death by the sunlight coming through the front door, which Guillermo had opened, much to everyone's horror.

In the season 2 finale, Guillermo suddenly disappears from the house, leaving only a note that says "Sorry". Turns out, he had left because he feared his vampire hunting heritage was distracting him from his duties as a familiar. The vampires are struggling to cope without him, as they have no one to dry clean their clothes.

However, their spirits are lifted when they're are invited to the covetedNouveau Thtre des Vampires, the most exclusive event on the vampiric social calendar, which turns out to be a trap to capture the vampires. Guillermo, however, figures out it's a trap and shows up to rescue them, slaughtering almost every vampire in the cast and the audience.

After Colin Robinson is promoted to a management position in his office, he realizes his increased influence over his colleagues means he can drain more and more energy from them. At home, Nadja realizes her village was ransacked by Nandor 200 years before she was born, and attempts to kill him. Guillermo realizes Colin is usinghis new power to agitate his roommates and suck their energy.

He makes clones of himself, claiming they are his only friends, but his clones die from being bored too much. The vampires have a eulogy where they show genuine fondness for Colin, and he reveals he was faking his death. Colin's office shuts down from the lack of productivity, and he gets a new job.

After the Baron's death, the vampires are summoned by the Vampiric Councilfor the Baron's murder. At the trial, Guillermo admits to accidentally killing the Baron, but they don't believe him, thinking that Guillermo was lying to protect his master. When the Council debates eating Guillermo, Nandor confesses to the crime.

The Council sentences them to death by sunlight and locked in a well. At dawn, however, Colin shields them from the sun with an umbrella, and Guillermo helps them escape. The episode features some truly hilarious cameos, including Tilda Swinton, Danny Trejo, and best of all, Wesley Snipes as a daywalker (a cheeky nod to Blade).
