The film adaptation of the book Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, that released in 2008, created a shift in entertainment. While vampires, werewolves and the supernatural were always popular in film and television, Twilight did something different.

The film tapped into a niche market that would explode in popularity and make way for many popular teen drama books tobe adapted into films. Teens found a new place to exist watching a supernatural world filled with dreamy vampires, love triangles and dangercame to life. With Twilight's success, more supernatural teen drama films came out of the woodworks. If you were a fan of the film saga, there are many more films to watch that would bring to life your hidden supernatural fantasies.

It's unlikely that anyone who watched Twilight didn't know about the film, The Covenant.Although it premiered two years prior to Twilight, it's still a must-watch if you're a fan of the supernatural teen drama genre. This film doesn't deal with vampires of werewolves, but it does involve a drool-worthy group of male witches.

Four high school students, Caleb (Steven Strait), Pogue (Taylor Kitsch), Reid (Toby Hemingway) and Tyler (Chace Crawford) are the sons of theSons of Ipswich. They are descendants of the original families ofSalem and have been passed down incredible power. When a new student transfers to their private school, Caleb starts to sense a great and evil power. Chase Collins (Sebastian Stan) would pose a threat to their coven and the people they love.

Back when Twilight was first released, it created a rise in teen book sales and one of the sagas that were popular was Fallen by author Lauren Kate. Fans ofthe books always questioned if the film would ever be made into a film due to the success of Twilight. In 2017, the film, Fallen, was released.

Lucinda "Luce" Price (Addison Timlin) is sent to Sword and Cross Academy after being blamed for a fire that killed a young boy. No one believes that she sees shadows who are to blame. Luce meets Daniel (Jeremy Irvine) and can't understand the undeniable pull she has to him. It is revealed that Daniel is a fallen angel who has been in love with Luce for centuries, but Luce dies whenever they kiss only to be reincarnated.

Vampire Academy is another supernatural teen drama film that is an adaptation of a book series ofthe same name by author Richelle Mead. The film released in 2014 and sadly never received a sequel. Rose Hathaway (Zoey Deutch) is a Dhampir (half-human and vampire) who is a guard in training. She protects her best friend, princess Lissa Dragomir (Lucy Fry), a Moroi (mortal vampire).

They escape St.Vladimir's Academy unable to fit into the politics an rule of the school. They are brought back to the academy where Rose continues her training with a Guardian, Dimitri Belikov (Danila Kozlovsky). Who she starts to have feelings for, despite the age difference. Threatening messages and events threaten Lissa's life. It's up to her to protect her best friend, who the last royal member of the Dragomir line.

The film Blood & Chocolate is a bit more old school in style than Twilight, but it hits all the right notes when it comes to a supernatural film. The film is ana adaptation of the 1997 young adult novel by the same name. The 2007 film follows the story of Vivian (Agnes Bruckner), a 19-year-old werewolf in Bucharest.

She lives with heraunt Astrid (Katja Riemann), who is hopelessly in love with their pack leader, Gabriela (Oliver Martinez). Due to a prophecy, Gabriel believes Vivian to bring "a new hope" for werewolves and wants her as his chosen mate. Vivian is appalled and meets graphic novelist, Aiden (Hugh Dancy). Shemust choose between herdesire and her duty to the pack.

Beastly is an interesting supernatural take on the concept of Beauty and the Beast.The film, released in 2011, was loosely based on the novel of the same name. Kyle Kingson (Alex Pettyfer) is arrogant andvain and believes his popularity is everything. He makes fun of an outcast named Kendra Hilferty (Mary-Kate Olsen). Little did he know she is a witch and curses him.

She curses him to be just as ugly as he is on the inside. If he cannot find someone to truly love him by spring, he will remain this way forever. He hides away but becomes infatuated with Linda Taylor (Vanessa Hudgens). He falls in love with her, but will she break the curse?

The film adaptation ofthe young adult fantasy novels, The Mortal Instruments, had high hopes when it first released in 2013. It also never received a sequel despite its acceptance by fans. It was later reinvented into a show for Freefrom.

Clary Fay (Lilly Collins) lives her normal life in New York City until she starts drawing strange symbols when she turns of age. At a club, she sees Jace Wayland (Jamie Campbell Bower). He becomes intrigued by her because no one else is meant to see him. She comes home to finds her mother missing and learns about "Shadowhunters " and a hidden supernatural world. She becomes the key to finding the lost Mortal Cup.

Many teen drama films come form book adaptation and the film I Am Number Four is no different. John Smith (Alex Pettyfer) is an alien from the planet Lorien. He is Number Four of the nine surviving children from his planetthat were sent to Earth after its destruction by Mogadorians.

The Mogadoriansvow to destroy the remaining children but can only do so in order. John lives his life in hiding in order to stay undiscovered as he and the remaining eight have insurmountable powers. John's life becomes threatened and meets Number Six (Teresa Palmer) who urges John to help find theremaining children in order to protect Earth.

The 2013 gothic fantasy film, Beautiful Creatures, was another popular book saga adaptation after the successof the Twilight novels. While the film didn't do well at the box office, fans were intriguedby how the film would bring to life thestoryline. Ethan Wate (Alden Ehrenreich) is sick of his boring old town and is haunted by recurring dreams of a girl he's never met.

The new girl, Lena Duchannes (Alice Englert) is the girl from his dreams but is unliked by everyone due to her family history. They start to form an undeniable love for one another. Ethan learns her family'struth. They are"caster" capable of performing spells. She will have to choose between the dark or the light when she turns sixteen.

The Craft is a cult classic when it comes to films of the supernatural and it became fan-favoriteyoung adult fans. While the film doesn't includeany other creatures like werewolves or vampires, it does a good job at a more down to earth version of witchcraft.

Sarah Bailey (Robin Tunney) has had darkness her, her whole life. She starts attending a new school and becomes friends with a group of outcast girls. Nancy Downs (Fairuza Balk), Bonnie Harper (Neve Campbell) and Rochelle Zimmerman (Rachel True) believe Sarah possesses true power and will complete their coven. They start calling upon dark forces thatonly bringnegative repercussions.

Warm Bodies veers away from the typical supernatural themes of Twilight and instead focuses on young love in the events of a zombie apocalypse. Eight years after a zombie apocalypse, R (Nicholas Hoult) is a zombie who aimlessly wonders and feels alive when experiencing the memories of his latest meal.

He meets Julie (Teresa Palmer), a human, who was sent to find rations with ehr group of friends to bring back to their enclosed human community. Julie is afraid of R until he starts to take care of herand keep her safe from the zombies. Unknowingly their bond starts to bring R back to life. Julie tries to convince her father and others that not all zombies are the same.
