Fans know the many twists and turns that follow, but we won't spoil them here. Today, we'll be taking a look at 10 cosplay fromVampire Knightthat make us feel like vampires might truly exist.

This first excellently done shot features Calssara as Ruka, one of the vampires of the Night Class who considers herself relatively close to Kaname, though this is shown to be an incredibly one-sided relationship as the series progresses.

She is an incredibly proud noble who tends to show disdain for those who she dubs to be beneath her, and even in a relatively simple pose such as this, that personality shines through. Her costume, wig, and makeup are all very well-done, and using strawberry grenadine to replicate blood is a very creative touch.

Fans of the series know that during one arc, Zero starts to lose his humanity in his devolution into a Level E vampire, and the only thing that could slow his transformation was if he was given some of Kaname's pureblood blood. Neither liked the idea, of course, and Zero tries everything he can to reject it, but Kaname practically forces him to accept it- not out of any kind of emotion towards the other, but because his devolution would hurt Yuuki, the girl that both of them care for more than anything.

This shot of PriSuicin as Zero and Yukilefay as Kaname capture this scene perfectly, and it's always a bonus to see girls cosplay male characters so well!

Throughout the beginning of the show, Yuuki is living with a completely forgotten past- the only one knowing the truth being Kaname Kuran, who eventually gives her his blood to reawaken her into her true form, that being of Yuuki Kuran, a pureblood princess. All she wanted as a human was to be with Kaname, but after she awakens, she doesn't seem too happy- knowing she hurt the other person closest to her, Zero, whose disdain for vampires is stronger than anything.

That's captured excellently in this shot, taken by vaxzone. Not only are the costumes breathtakingly gorgeous with lots of little intricacies, but the shot itself, as well as the lighting, are drop-dead gorgeous in their own right.

Zero's defining character trait is his unrivaled hatred for all vampires- and when he starts to lose his own humanity and devolve into a kind of vampire that should never exist, that includes hatred towards himself. He's alone and incredibly afraid during this time, afraid of himself and what he might become, afraid to hurt the person closest to her, but also too afraid to let her know what was really going on.

All of these fears are perfectly captured in the essence of CrimsonRosesCosplays' Zero. The pose is wonderful as well, and the uniform looks handmade, which is impressive.

During his devolution, there were plenty of moments in which Zero wanted to get as far away as possible from anyone else- anyone that he could potentially hurt as his senses became more like a vampire's, and he began to lose control of himself. Typically, this would involve him running deep into the woods that surround the grounds of the academy, and one of those little escapes is captured quite well in this shot of ShamanRenji's Zero.

With hands tensed on his thighs and a glare shot at the camera signaling 'you shouldn't have come here', his personality was perfectly captured.

Yuuki, despite being a young girl who had no memory of her past prior to age five, is an incredibly bright-eyed and optimistic person. She takes on the duties of Guardian during nighttime to make sure no one finds out the Night Class' secret, despite being a full-time student. Her trusty weapon is the Artemis Rod, a rod that reacts to vampires and can wound them quite badly if need be, that she wields solely for self-defense.

This pose, shot by Ashitaro, is straight out of the anime, as she landed in this pose between two students and a group of vampires in order to break up conflict. Her expression and costume are also spot-on.

Despite his insistence on pushing Yuuki away in order to keep her safe, her presence is the only thing that can truly relax Zero- when he doesn't get a whiff of her blood, that is. This lovely shot of Zero and alas-etereas as Yuuki captures the more light-hearted and sweet side of their partnership quite well.

Both of their costumes look incredibly accurate, as do their wigs- and Yuuki's gentle hand resting on Zero's head as he gets some much-needed rest is a super sweet touch.

For a long while after Yuuki's reawakening into Yuuki Kuran, Zero despises her- at least, that's the front he puts up so he doesn't have to confront his own emotions. Deep down, though, he knows that he cares about her more than anything and always will, no matter what form she takes.

The two meet at a masquerade ball and share a dance together in canon, and this shot is a wonderful imagining of what the aftermath might have been.Sley and mew-Keikeimake for a gorgeous Zero and Yuuki, respectively, and the way their hands ever so softly interlock simply melts the heart.

An overly complicated pose isn't always needed in order to bring out the intricacies of a character, and this is definitely the case when it comes to Michael-Blanc's Zero. Striking a simple standing pose, Zero's cold and intimidating nature come across perfectly, and any extra posing would honestly be a bit out of character for the serious guardian.

The costume, as well as the tattoo that adorns his neck, look quite accurate- and those icy purple lenses could strike straight through the soul.

As one of the two guardians tasked with protecting Cross Academy, like Yuuki, Zero has an anti-vampire weapon of his own dubbed the Bloody Rose. Down on one knee, it looks as if he's hiding, gun drawn and ready for any unlucky vampires that might come into contact with him.

The cosplayer pictured is the wonderful yaci-chan, who notes that she made everything for the costume herself, which is always super impressive and a sign of true dedication to the character that we can't help but appreciate.
