Arc System Works reveals more information for newcomer Nagoriyuki in Guilty Gear Strive including the fact that he’s a vampire, PC version confirmed -…

Last night, Arc System Works closed out the Japanese fighting game developer stream with quite the bang by showing off Leo Whitefang and Nagoriyuki for Guilty Gear Strive, and now we have some new tidbits about the fighters.

Shortly after the reveal, ArcSys updated their website to include more details about the newcomer samurai along with a listing for a PC version of Strive.

The official description for Nagoriyuki reads as follows:

"Nagoriyuki is the newest addition to the Guilty Gear universe. A vampire with a number of unique and powerful abilities, he wields a huge sword with impressive skill in battle and slashes at his enemies with punishing blows. Stay tuned for more info about this mysterious figure!"

Anyone versed in the lore of Guilty Gear will immediately know he's not the first vampire in the series considering we've had Slayer for forever though from a design and aesthetics point of view, the characters don't really appear to have any apparent ties to one another.

They do, however, appear to share similar dashing mechanics that causes their bodies to phase out of existence for a moment by moving impossibly fast.

"Nagoriyuki is the newest addition to the Guilty Gear universe. A vampire with a number of unique and powerful abilities, he wields a huge sword with impressive skill in battle and slashes at his enemies with punishing blows. Stay tuned for more info about this mysterious figure!"

It'll be interesting to see their interactions with one another if Slayer does manage to make his way onto Strive's roster unless there's a strict one vampire limit.

Now we know for sure that Nagoriyuki is indeed absorbing the blood of his opponents as we saw in the trailer with his grab while his main sword can also seemingly suck it up as well.

It's also fairly transparent / fitting considering he wears the Japanese kanji for heart on his mask and back with the word heart written underneath it.

The bottom of the web page states that Guilty Gear Strive will be coming to PlayStation 4 and also PS5 as revealed last night though they also list a Steam version as well which is kinda odd they'd leave that out of the trailer.

ArcSys has something of a mixed record when it comes to releasing their fighting games on PC the same time as console considering Guilty Gear Xrd launched a full year after PS3/PS4 on Steam and six months apart for Revelator.

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle did see a simultaneous release more recently which is a good sign though Granblue Fantasy: Versus went about two months apart from the Japanese launch to PC that game was published by Cygames, however.

What does make it seem likely that Strive will hit all platforms at the same time or at least close to it is ArcSys listing all three home versions with a release window for early 2021 with an arcade version also in the works.
