Buffy The Vampire Slayer Characters, Ranked Least-Most Likely To Win The Hunger Games – Screen Rant

The characters of Buffy the Vampire Slayer are all strong survivors, but which of them are least or most likely to win the Hunger Games?

The cast of characters that populate the world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer are more than familiar with having to fight for their own lives against forces that seem more dangerous and powerful than they themselves are, and every single one of them brings something different to the table when it comes to survival skills.

And although their fictional worlds couldn't seem more different, it's not hard to imagine what it would be like if the characters of Buffy had to compete in the Hunger Games. But if they all found themselves in that massive battle royale, how would each of Buffy's characters fare?

Dawn Summers handles the supernatural world that she lives in somewhat decently, but she's not much of a fighter and she really relies on everyone around her to keep her safe and alive.

She doesn't have any exceptional powers and abilities, and in comparison to the kinds of things that the Scooby Gang were doing when they were her age, Dawn is clearly behind the curve when it comes to fighting to the death.

Xander is obviously no slouch when it comes to an average human being, and the mere fact that he has survived relatively unscathed in the supernatural world for so long indicates that he'd have a halfway decent chance in the Hunger Games.

However, in comparison to his compatriots on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, he's obviously on the lower end of strength and survival skills, and ultimately being the heart of the Scoobs isn't enough.

Angel is a vampire, so when it comes to actual physical capability when it comes to fighting, he's doing pretty well for himself. However, he'd likely be a major flop in the Hunger Games.

When it comes to winning the Games, it's not just about ability, it's about willingness to actually get the job done, and Angel would not handle things well if he had to commit serial murder. He'd likely voluntarily lose.

Cordelia might not have any superpowers to assist her when it comes to playing the Games (or at least she didn't acquire superpowers until Angel), but she's smart, charming, and knows how to play social games, so even if she didn't win, she'd likely make it far.

She's also a very naturally assertive and sometimes aggressive individual who loves to win, so she wouldn't be afraid to get her hands dirty.

If Anya were playing the Hunger Games in her vengeance demon form then she'd likely have an even better shot at coming up the victor, but even as a human, she has a lot of potential to win as well.

Anya has shown emotion on occasion, but she'd have an easier time killing people than most Buffy characters, and she's pretty intelligent and resourceful on top of her ruthlessness.

When it comes to fighting to the death to become the lone victor in Panem's annual battle royale, Giles' biggest asset is obviously his intelligence.

He could outsmart nearly any person he came up against in the Games, and although he has softened up with age, as a youth he clearly had no problem getting violent with people. He has a surprisingly good shot at making it far.

Given that the Hunger Games is primarily focused on one player's ability to kill another, anyone with supernatural strength and fighting abilities like Faithis going to have a huge leg up against the competition.

Faith didn't exactly become a career murderer after accidentally killing a man either, however she knows what it's like to kill someone and knows she's capable of it, so she has another advantage over her competitors as well.

There is obviously a recurring theme with a lot of Buffy's characters in relation to the Hunger Games, because while they might have the skills to get the job done, they would also have a big problem actually having to kill people.

Obviously that doesn't apply to Spike though. Even once he regained his soul he didn't shy away from a fight, and while he wouldn't relish the killing, he'd likely do it to keep himself alive.

In 99 Games out of a hundred, Willow would likely wind up winning the entire thing, because she really has it all. No, she's not a great fighter, but she's a literal genius with magical powers.

The lack of access to magical materials might put her at a disadvantage, but she could likely make do well enough in order to beat out all of her competition.

Just call her Katniss Everdeen. Buffy is not just the girl who would wind up winning the Hunger Games, she's the victor who would wind up tearing the entire institution of the Games apart.

She has all of the requisite skills to make a fantastic player within the games, but as someone who has always bucked the rules and done whatever she thought she needed to do (regardless of what anyone else thought or had to say about it), Buffy would likely be the last victor the Games ever had and she'd destroy the institution entirely.
