Buffy the Vampire Slayer star says night fight scenes were hardest to film – digitalspy.com

It's been 16 years since Buffy the Vampire Slayer ended, but star Sarah Michelle Gellar still holds vivid memories of her stint on the hit series.

Sarah's character Buffy Summers took a stand against all sorts of spooky creatures during the show's seven-season run, including vampires, demons and those pretty terrifying heart-hunting ghouls. And now, she's revealed what her hardest scenes to film were.

"I think the hardest scenes to film were always the nighttime fight scenes in cemeteries because it was cold and your muscles get tense, so trying to stay awake and keep your muscles loose [was difficult]," she told BuzzFeed.

Asked if she'd ever experienced anything supernatural while being in a cemetery, Sarah continued: "You know, graveyards are oddly peaceful. I think people don't realise that if you're in a nice one there's something peaceful [about them].

"They're not as scary as you think once you get over the first anxiety of it."

Elsewhere, Sarah also added that one of the highlights she had from working on the show was learning that girls can "kick butt" too.

"I mean, I don't think I could narrow it down to one, but one [of the many lessons] I learned is girls kick butt!" she said.

And as some of you may know, Buffy's creator Joss Whedon and Agents of SHIELD writer Monica Owusu-Breen are working on a reimagining of the show, focusing on a new Slayer with a woman of colour in the lead role.

"For seven seasons, I watched Buffy Summers grow up, find love, kill that love. I watched her fight and struggle and slay," Monica Owusu-Breen previously said.

"There is only one Buffy. One Xander, one Willow, Giles, Cordelia, Oz, Tara, Kendra, Faith, Spike, Angel They can't be replaced. Joss Whedon's brilliant and beautiful series can't be replicated.

"I wouldn't try to. But here we are, 20 years later and the world seems a lot scarier. So maybe, it could be time to meet a new Slayer And that's all I can say."
