The first episode of Vlad Love, a comedy slapstick anime, has been made available on the show's official Youtube channel.
Mamoru Oshii, the mind behind classic animeGhost in the Shell,has returned to anime after a brief hiatus to focus on live-action work. His latest project isVlad Love, a vampire comedy anime directed by Oshii,animated by Drive, and produced by Ichigo Animation. Just recently, the official Youtube channel for the project streamed the very first episode with English subtitles.
The anime is planned to last 12 episodes and was originally slated for release this fall. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, however, the project was delayed and now has an unspecified 2021 window. This did not stop the first episode from airing on Youtube however, and the stream went off smoothly, debuting the very first episode of the show to everyone who tuned in.

Those who missed it don't need to worry though, the full episode is still available for free on the Vlad Love Youtube channel. The basic premise goes as follows:Mitsugu Bamba is a high school girl who loves donating blood. One day at the blood bank, however, she meets a strange pale girl who seems to have come from overseas. Suddenly the strange girl starts trashing the blood bank and then faints, so Mistugu decides the best thing to do is take her home.
No points for guessing that the strange girl is a vampire, as the series description statesthat upfront. The show centers on Mitsugu and the vampire girl in various slapstick hijinks. Giving out the first episode for free gives audiences the opportunity to see if they like the show before they commit to watching the full thing when it finally premieres.
Whether or not that'll be any time soon is still up in the air of course. As of right now, there's no official word on when the show will actually be available in full. The first episode debut is a nice sampler to tide people over, but those who enjoy it may be waiting some time for the real thing. As of right now, those who want to watch the whole thing may want to wait until the series is available in full. Hopefully, the delays aren't too severe, and an official release date is given out sometime soon.
