He is the first son and second child of Mikael and Esther, and he is the only one to have a relationship with elder sister Freya before her supposed deathin the 10th Century.

He was his mother's sole confidant in the truth about what happened to Freya, forced to keep her secret for the safety of his brothers and sisters. He never recovered from losing Freya, and, as a result, he could never bond with hisother siblings. They paled in comparison to his beloved sister. After the death of their youngest brother, Hendrik, at the hands of werewolves, Finn and his family were turned into vampires.
