Selecting the right role is the name of the game in Hollywood, and being unable to do this could lead to people missing out on a huge opportunity. As it were, Ashley Tisdale was apparently offered an audition for this series, but she chose to decline it in favor of something else. Talk about a huge mistake.

Whenever a performer on a series gets wrapped up in some legal issues, the media is usually all over it. Ian Somerhalder was a lead on the series, and he wound up finding himself in some legal entanglements when he was accused of fraud. This allegation stemmed from his charity.

Working with people means getting to know them on a different level, and Candice King wound up dating multiple men from the series. Things would not work out with these partners, but everyone involved was able to make it work to get their jobs done for all the fans at home.

Whenever a phone number is used in a film or series, it is almost always a fake number. This is to prevent people from calling it and irritating the people on the other line. This series used a working number that fans could call and listen to a message from the characters.

This series was not the only vampire show to make it onto the smallscreen, and Ian Somerhalder wound up auditioning for both shows at one point. The cool thing about this is that both shows were a huge success, so he was going to be good to go either way.

The shuffling of cast members behind the scenes is always interesting, and plenty of people wind up auditioning for multiple roles. Alexandra Chando auditioned for the character Elena four times, and while she is a great actress, we just cannot see her as that character. The show would have been much different.

Nailing an audition is never an easy task, and a performer must bring their best effort with them each time that they audition. Apparently, Nina Dobrev dropped a dud when she first auditioned for Elena, and it was pure luck that the people behind the series saw a better tape of her performance.

Season 8 of the series was one that decided to get a little bit clever when it came to naming the episodes. People that are gigantic fans of the series noticed that the episode titles all sounded a little familiar, and this is because each episode was named after a quote from earlier in the series.

James Van Der Beek made a name for himself as a small screen star on the series Dawsons Creek, and at one point, he was in contention for the role of Alaric on The Vampire Diaries. He was not able to land the role, and people have wondered how much different the show would have been with this change.

Not unlike some of the other performers on this series, actor Paul Wesley actually read for multiple roles while the show was being put together. The casting on the series wound up getting this one right, and it would have been so much different had Wesley gotten the role of Damon.

There was plenty of cleverness involved when it came to naming episodes on this series, and for season 6, the folks making the show wanted to do things a little bit differently. Each episode during season 6 was named after a song, which must have been a lot of fun forthe writers to come up with.

Acting is a tough gig, and it is important to go into each day of filming with a clear mind so that focus can be maintained. Unfortunately, this is not always the easiest thing to accomplish, and Zach Roerig wound up dealing with custody issues while he was still appearing on the show.

Ashlee Simpson is a former pop star that was able to find some success on the charts after her sister helped pave the way. She has done some acting over the years, and apparently, she was in top contention for the role of Elena. This show would have been drastically different with her on board.

7thHeaven was a huge hit on the small screen back in the day, and this is the show that helped David Gallagher become a fixture in the business. Back when The Vampire Diaries was still being cast, Gallagher had the chance to read for both Damon and Stefan, but he did not get either role.

This is something that may have irked some fans of the book, but the producers must have done this for a reason. There are plenty of creatures that did not make their way onto the series, and the people behind the show chose to keep things simpler for the audience at home.

The popularity of this series led to a number of spin off projects being discussed and made, and Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley have both expressed their lack of interest in appearing in them. After so much time spent playing these characters, we can definitely see why they would rather move on.

Many people in the business have larger aspirations than just acting in front of the camera. There are plenty of performers that want to direct and produce, and when Paul Wesley was given the chance, he was more than happy to step behind the camera and direct a few episodes of the series.

People that distract motorists are going to find themselves in trouble with the law, and this is exactly what happened to several cast members from this series some time ago. They were in the midst of taking photos when they were eventually taken into custody, which they clearly didnt seem to mind.

Shannon Guest is a performer that made an appearance on The Vampire Diaries, and while she wasnt a primary player, we had to include this. She would find herself in hot water after sending letters laced with ricin to several political figures. Shannonwould eventually be arrested and put behind bars.

Love was apparently in the air for some of the people making this series, and there was a point when Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder were an item. Things would not work out between the two, and they have both since moved on. Their split allegedly caused tension behind the scenes.
