Therese Voerman and her sister, Jeanette, are still the Baron of Santa Monica. As a member of Clan Malkavian, Therese/Jeanette suffers from a mental derangement in the form of multiple personalities, so they are both the same person with two distinct personalities.

InL.A. By Night,Jeanette and Therese still share the role of Baron of Santa Monica. Therese was in attendance when the Succubus Club came to Los Angeles and she took part in the massacre of the mortal attendees when everyone was culled to protect the Masquerade. One of the allies of the main coterie inL.A. By Nightis a Malkavian named X, who is revealed to be one of Therese's spies and has been keeping tabs on the group for her.

Therese Voerman appeared inL.A. By Nightin "Teardrop", played by Whitney Moore. Los Angeles has a new Camarilla Prince in the form of Vannevar Thomas and he quickly comes into conflict with the Anarchs of the city. It initially seems as if Therese is collaborating with the Camarilla and is shown having secret meetings with the Prince, but all is not as it seems. Prince Vannevar is losing his mind, which some fans initially believed was due to him resisting the effects of The Beckoning (a supernatural call that is causing elder vampires to head to the Middle East), but it's revealed that this is the work of Therese. It's strongly hinted that she is using Dementation to mess with the Prince's mind in order to undermine his position and extract information for him. Whether she is doing this to save the Anarchs or as part of a power play to steal the Prince's position remains to be seen.

Jeanette made her appearance inL.A. By Nightin "Watch the Night", played by Whitney Moore, where she has a private meeting with Annabelle of the main coterie. Jeanette warns Annabelle about Therese betraying the Anarch Movement to the Camarilla, as the antagonistic relationship between the two sisters hasn't cooled over the past fifteen years. Jeanette implies that Annabelle should kill, or at least seriously harm Therese in some way, but Annabelle is still reticent about taking a life.

When Thomas returned to Los Angeles with the rest of the Camarilla, he was marked as the biggest threat to Anarchs, due to his age and considerable magical abilities. The free Tremere among the Anarchs in Los Angeles are terrified of Strauss and want to see him dealt with as soon as possible.

Strauss appeared in "Innocent Monsters", where he revealed that he was around during the days of the original Inquisition and the Convention of Thorns, making him one of the oldest active Kindred in the setting.
