The game is afoot!

Just months after *that* mind-blowing Season 4finale, the Sherlock geniuses are reuniting for a Dracula series.PRAISE BE!

While negotiations with the BBC are still underway, it appears that the creators of the beloved BBC detective series, Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, will write the series.Sherlock producer(andMoffats wife) Sue Vertue will producethe adaptation of the classic Bram Stoker novel with her company Hartswood Films.

According to reports, the newDracula adaptation willget theSherlock treatment, consisting of just a handful of feature-length episodes. While its unknown whether or not Dracula will be reappearing in the modern era as opposed to his 1890s setting in Stokers novel if anyone can bring a character from the 1890s to modern day, its Moffat and Gatiss.

Stokers 1897 novel follows the titular vampire as he leaves his Transylvanian home and travels to England in search of some fresh blood. In England, he chooses the wrong target and winds up being hunted by a group of vampire hunters. While no scripts have currently been written, it appears that the Dracula series could air as soon as 2019.

Variety, whobroke the news, revealed that the BBC is eager to work with Moffat and Gatiss asSherlock has been one of their biggest international hits and trust us, BBC, we feel the same way.

As for that beloveddetective series, Moffat and Gatiss recently revealed that there are not any current plans for another season ofSherlock,but said there could be a fifth season in the future.

Not gonna lie, were so sad that there isntan upcoming season ofSherlockto look forward to, but we have a feeling that this Dracula series could be exactly whats missing in our lives.

While we know that the series wont be cast for some time, we cant wait to see who plays the iconic Dracula, Van Helsing, Jonathan Harker, and the rest of the characters from the beloved series! 2019, please come quick!
