Total War: Warhammer 2 will let the Vampire Coast raise the dead at sea again – PCGamesN

Vampire Coasties, rejoice: Creative Assembly has fixed a bug in Total War: Warhammer II that prevented players from raising the dead while at sea, and the fix is currently playable in the games beta branch. The patch also addresses a long list of other issues, notably including the inadvertent limit placed on the number of mods you could have running at the same time.

Since October, Vampire Coast factions havent been able to raise dead while fighting at sea, and have had to return to dry land to do so. Thats made their campaigns much more difficult than they were meant to be effectively impossible, in some cases. Fortunately, thats not how its supposed to work, and a fix should be out in the main branch before too long.

You can play with the fix applied now, however, albeit in beta form. As a post in the Total War forums explains, you simply have to right-click Total War: Warhammer II in your Steam library and select Properties, then click the Betas tab. Use the drop-down menu to select 8.3, and allow the game to update itself.

The 8.3 version addresses a laundry list of bugs and imbalances, but there are four high-priority issues that top the bunch. After the raising dead at sea issue, there was also a bug that limited the number of mods a player could use, which is fixed in this version. Other top-line issues fixed with the beta patch are a bug that limited AI factions to recruiting a single army, and a bug that caused experience to be incorrectly calculated when gaining levels during battles.

Creative Assembly recommends starting a new campaign if you plan on playing with the beta build of the patch, since this version includes an end-turn crash that pops up when using older save files. That should be corrected when the official version arrives in the main branch, however.

You can read the full list of bug and balance fixes on the official Total War forums.
