The Vampire Diaries has been completed eight seasons till now and the latest eighth season further broadcasted back in October 2016 and also completed in March 2017. Thereafter, as we know it was released on Netflix, it gets more attention. People get excited to watch it.

IS A REBOOT POSSIBLE? HERE IS THE ANSWER:

Ian Somerhalder who is playing the role of Damon Salvatore in the show has rejected playing the character again. He even makes a joke that he may not be able to play the young vampire role anymore. Moreover, Nina Dobrev who plays the role of Elena Gilbert and Paul Wesley who features as Stefan Salvatore has also denied playing the character too.

The writer and producer of vampire diaries Julie Plec said in an interview with Deadline that there will not be a Damon Salvatore spinoff.

Nevertheless, just because the major characters and the author have said they will not return to the series again, that does not mean it will not begin again further.

In April 2016 Somerhalder twittered that Vampire Diaries is getting on to quit after season 8, though, he confessed for the wrong message and verified he will quitting the series but indicated it could begin again.
