Vampire Diaries season 8 came out about three years ago. And, we all were made to believe that it was the last and final season. Well, when the last season came on Netflix, it gained even more popularity than the show already had. So, my dear Vampire Diaries fam, we might just be having a 9th Season!

With a cast as charming as ever, a plot thatll again make us want to binge-watch and emotions hurling everywhere, The Vampire Diaries season 9 will most likely be published next year during this time,4 Years later from the last season that came on October 21, 2016, and stretched upto March 2017.
There is one bad news though, more than one. Ian Somerhalder is not coming back; we cant think of anyone who could play the role of Damon Salvatore as well as he did.

Along with this our other favourite, the wonderful Nina Dobrev wont be coming back as Elena Gilbert either. And as if the absence of these two wasnt enough to completely disorient us from the show, were disheartened to the core to know that Paul Wesely wouldnt come back as Stephen Salvatore either.
Would there even be a season without these? How does that make any sense? But there has been no announcement about any cancellation or anything like that. Maybe the lack of the same writer and some celebrities is not enough for CW to give up hope on The Vampire Diaries.

Somerhalder even apologised when he said that the 8th season was the last one. Later, he corrected himself saying that it might not be the series last season, but it was the last season for him.
There is not any trailer yet, and probably wont be for another 8-9 months. Lets hope that CW in the meanwhile doesnt bombard us with cancellation news.
