Former Vampire Diaries actor Paul Wesley has revealed that he's returning to The CW to direct an upcoming episode of Batwoman.
Announcing the news via his Instagram story, the star confirmed that he's set to helm the 17th episode of the superhero show's first season by sharing a photo of the script, written by Daphne Miles.

The 37-year-old is no stranger to overseeing television productions, having made his debut in the fifth season of Vampire Diaries. After that, he went on to direct four more episodes before the series concluded in 2017.
Since then, he's worked on Vampire Diaries spin-off Legacies, as well as shows such as Shadowhunters and Roswell, New Mexico in the same capacity.
Titular character Kate Kane found herself left with mixed emotions when Batwoman's most recent episode revealed that there are now two versions of her twin sister Beth (Rachel Skarsten) one good, one bad running around Gotham.
Speaking about her emotional turmoil, showrunner Caroline Dries told Entertainment Weekly: "Kate is confused, thrilled, and ultimately very conflicted to have the person she's longed for her entire life finally show up unexpectedly.
"Having both Beth and Alice what is and what should have been results in a lot of ambivalence for Kate, who will probably never heal from what happened the day of the car accident."
Batwoman airs on Sundays at 8/7c on The CW in the US. UK broadcast details are yet to be announced.
