‘What We Do in the Shadows’ Season 2 Episode 8 will see Nandor refuse to honor his promise and Guillermo leave – MEAWW

Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clements vampire mockumentary series What We Do in the Shadows, is about to reach a crucial point. In the last episode -- Season 2 Episode 7, The Return -- we saw Nandor (Kayvan Novak) begin to suspect his familiar Guillermo (Harvey Guilln) for being a vampire slayer.

Guillermo, as we know by now, is an expert vampire killer, who has killed scores of them in this season alone, for he is after all the descendant of the legendary vampire hunter Van Helsing. As Carol, a particularly hideous vampire from Simon the Devious (Nick Kroll) crew tries to kill him, Guillermo defends himself with a broomstick. Using it as a wooden stake, he manages to finish her. But Nandor realizing what he had done, becomes slightly wary of him.

This marked a change in the dynamics of Guillermo and Nandor, who up until now shared an oddly homoerotic master-servant relationship. Its no secret that Guillermo, despite his prodigious skills, wants to be a vampire; something he was promised by Nandor over a decade ago in return for his unquestioning service. So, what is going to happen next?

According to IMDb, in season 2 episode 8, titled Collaboration, well see Nandor's old familiar from the 1970's return to Staten Island. But it doesnt end there. Guillermo will leave Nandor and the others to serve a new master, as Nadja (Natasia Demetriou) and Laszlo (Matt Berry) try to revive their musical act.

The promo, that was shared on the series' official Twitter account, too shows much of the same, but only contextualizes this more. It begins with the return of Nandors old familiar returning after 40 years to ask for what he was promised: for Nandor to turn him into a vampire. The shot moves to Guillermos resentful face, perhaps signifying that Nandor may have decided to grant his wish. Of course, it can also imply that Nandor may have refused, leading him to realize that his servitude may never amount to anything.

The promo moves to other vampires taunting Guillermo for being a familiar for eleven years, and not being turned for his service. These vampires, by the looks of it, were familiars themselves at some point. This makes Guillermo finally confront Nandor: Are you going to turn me into a vampire or not?

The promo ends with Guillermo packing his bags and leaving. Obviously, one can surmise that Nandor must have refused to honor his promise. This raises an important question: What will Guillermo do now?

He will, as the synopsis suggests, look for a different vampire to serve. But will he at the same time also plan to exact revenge upon Nandor, and by association, the others in the house? Because if he did, it is unlikely the foursome of odd vampires stand a chance against him.

Lets just pray that he doesnt do anything too rash!
