When The Vampire Diaries is leaving Netflix UK and how many episodes there are to watch – iNews

Fans of The Vampire Diaries, prepare for some bad news; the show it set to leave UK Netflix, after more than seven years on the service.

The good news? You still have time to binge it a few more times before it disappears.

All eight seasons of the supernatural teen drama are currently available on Netflix.

It would take exactly five days, two hours and 33 minutes to watch all 171 episodes back to back though we would probably recommend taking a few breaks

The Vampire Diaries will leave UK Netflix on 1 November 2020.

Fans have not exactly reacted happily to the news. The Vampire Diaries is leaving Netflix next month and I swear, thats the worst to happen in 2020, one wrote on Twitter.

Another commented: Vampire Diaries is the only reason Im on Netflix and I find out its leaving on 1 November just as I restarted it yesterday.

The Vampire Diaries is a CW show, and Netflixs licence to stream it is expiring.

It is unclear whether Netflix has chosen not to renew the licence, or whether CW did not give it the option to.

It may be that WarnerMedia, which owns CW, wants to keep The Vampire Diaries for its own streaming service.

The show is still available on Amazon Prime, but at the cost of 1.89 per episode (or 2.49 per episode in HD).

The supernatural series is based on LJ Smiths popular book series of the same name. it first aired in September 2009, and ran until March 2017.

Set in the fictional town of Mystic Falls, Virginia, it follows the life ofElena Gilbert(Nina Dobrev), a teenage girl who has just lost both parents in a car accident.

She falls in love with a 162-year-old vampire named Stefan Salvatore(Paul Wesley), but ends up in a love triangle with him and his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder), who is also a vampire.

Thepilot episode attracted the largest audience for The CW of any series premiere since the network began in 2006, and it remained popular throughout its eight-season run.
