The infamous witches, vampires and originals will be back to make you believe in supernatural. Legacies has officially been renewed for season 4. The spin-off series of The Originals is set to come back with another season. Certainly, fans couldnt be happier. The blend of characters from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals were missed all this time.

Legacies is an American fantasy drama with supernatural elements. The show is created by Julie Plec. It was premiered on The CW channel. Legacies is a follow up story after the events of The Originals. Hence it features characters from the show along with the new generation. The story is depicted from the lens of Hope Mikaelson. She is Hayley and Klauss 17 year old daughter. Therefore, she is the heir of powerful vampire, werewolf and witch bloodline.

The story takes place two years after the events of The Originals. Hope joins the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. The school provides a space for kids with supernatural powers. It teaches them how to control and manage of these powers. The Salvatore School was discussed in The Vampire Diaries. It was founded by Alaric and Salvatore brothers, when Alaric and Josies daughters started discovering their powers.

Legacies season 2 was released in October 2019. Later in January 2020, Legacies announced to be renewed for season 3. The news was shared on the social media accounts of the show.

Certainly, the show was supposed to release in 2020. However due to COVID-19, the shooting was left in between. Legacies season 3 was already planned to be released in 2021.

Subsequently, the production work for the previous season had to hit pause as well. A few episodes were already filmed and released. Later on 27 March 2020, the creator of the show Julie Plec announced wrap of the show. Consequently, episode 16 was announced to be the last episode.

Fans are upset about the midway ending of the show. Hopefully, well soon get to hear good news. Nonetheless, we sure will get Legacies Season 3 in 2021.

Legacies season 2 ended with Landons death. His best friend Rafael was also made into a dead puppet. Meanwhile, Hope got trapped in Josies subconscious. Hence, she fails to wake up in real world. As Julie Plec is known for her mythological writing, people expect to see some elements of that. It is being speculated that Landon might come back alive as he is part of Phoenix. However, Necromander stabbed Rafaels puppet with a special blade, to ensure Landon remains dead.

Other than that, in The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, the story line was more mature with every season. But we might not get to see that here. Legacies is meant for the younger audience. Legacies is a lighter than the other two shows.
