10 B-Level Star Wars Characters We Want To See More Of (And 5 Who Need To Go) – TheThings

Star Wars is so expansive at this point that it is often hard to keep track of all of its endless supply of characters. While most fans (and people in general) can likely name drop a bevy of the franchise's A-level stars, there are also an assortment of lower-tier, albeit still important and entertaining, characters.

Some ofthese B-listers have cropped up in the core films or in more secondary stories like in the television series, comics ,or novels, slowlycreeping their way up or down the ranks of popularity. Many arecharacters that fans hope to see more of and others, well, it's okay if they drift off into space.

Maz is one of the more intriguingly enigmatic additions from the new trilogy. She seems to know a little bit about everything in the galaxy far far away a good attribute that she uses to help our heroes. Not only that, but Maz isnt afraid to get into the action herself, flying through the air on her jetpack while blasting away at unknown enemies.

The face of Return of the Jedis Ewoks, this little teddy bear is the Ewok that buddied up with Princess Leia after she fell from her speeder bike. Though he looks cuddly enough, precocious Wicket and his other Endor pals didnt shy away from fighting with the Rebels against the Empire. Wicket would be a great addition to any future Star Wars story.

While Captain Phasma was an intriguing villain when she was first introduced in The Force Awakens, her quick demise still leaves a bitter taste in many fans mouths. She is the type of character where less is more and unfortunately there really isnt a need to flesh out her backstory or have Phasma in future instalments at this point.

Okay, to be fair, a lot of the prequel trilogy characters (including B-characters) have been featured in the Clone Wars series. This includes Grievous too, however, he is simply too cool and entertaining of a character to not demand more of. His weird cyborg design, his cowardly personality, and jealousy of Force-users are all fantastic. Need more Grievous. Now.

One thing that the spin-off films have done well is their droids. While the Solo film was not the best, Phoebe Waller-Bridge (who is great in everything) was a standout as L3-37. While she seemed largely to be Landos sidekick for much of the film, L3s significance exploded in the films finale, making L3 an integral part of Han Solos backstory.

This one is not going to surprise anyone: Jar Jars got to go. This was an unanimous reaction from fans (and even non-fans) everywhere after The Phantom Menace. Lucasfilm seemed to get the message too, as Jar Jars prominence quickly shrunk in all future stories. While he did appear in a few Clone Wars episodes, his role was small and his character was well, slightly less obnoxious.

This Mon Calamari rose to the ranks of general of the Rebellion. If that wasnt enough, he even knew when the prodigal trap was coming! Ackbar was unceremoniously killed off too soon but heres tothe possibility that some of Palpatines clone trickery is eventually put to good use to bring this fan-favorite squid-man back to life.

Though Thrawn was originally conceived in the now-debunked EU novels, he has remained afavorite. This level-headed, blue-skinned tactician is unlike any other Star Wars villain. He may have been resurrected and placed into the original trilogy-era of Star Wars in the animated Rebels show, but hopefully he makes the transfer to live-action too.

Another case of the less-is-more appeal. Greedo has long had a significant, albeit odd, Star Wars legacy. The whole who shot first debate still rages on, despite Lucas himself seemingly answering the question with his prior re-edit of A New Hope. Because of Greedos singular famous scene, he really doesnt need more at this point.

Yet another pretty cool addition from the subpar prequel trilogy, Count Dooku had a classical kind of villainy to him. Perhaps this was largely due to his portrayal by the legendary Christopher Lee, however, there is surely no one who would complain about seeing more Dooku. Pitch: a film about his years as Sidious apprentice.

The vastly underrated Clone Wars series created some instantly classic characters for Star Wars. One of the best was Asajj Ventress who, over the course of the series, goes on a marvellous arc from apprentice to Dooku to a much more neutral albeit still-powerful player. A standalone Ventress film or series is justwhat the doctor called for.

General Hux is a classic one-note type of villain. He spends pretty much all of his trilogy shouting and looking angry, tapping into his very fascist tendencies. The Rise of Skywalker seemed to try to deepen Hux a little (its still unclear whether he was the spy or not), however, he ultimately was given a quick death and no one thought about him again.

Nien Nunb has quite the distinct look; he may be a good guy, but theres a good chance that some young Star Wars fans had nightmares about him. Regardless, he is clearly an important guy because he had the honor of co-piloting the Millenium Falcon with Lando during the Battle of Endor. Plus, he actually lived through the entire sequel trilogy too so theres opportunity for more Mr. Nunb!

Ah ha! You thought Star Wars' newest sensation wouldnt be on this list. While Baby Yoda is probably still a B-character, theres no telling how high he will rise into stardom. In all likelihood, we will probably learn much more about Baby Yoda throughout The Mandalorian, however, that doesnt mean we cant still demand more right here and now.

Star Wars own swingin jazz band! While Maxs squad wasnt all that terrible in the original version of Return of the Jedi, Lucas revamping of the awful musical number Jedi Rock and their CGI upgrade was simply too much to handle. No one has ever demanded any more from these folk and Sy Snootles' small Clone Wars appearance was similarly just uncalled for.
