Deputies identify 1 of 2 killed in Redding murder-suicide investigation – Action News Now

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - Deputies have identified one of the two people who were found dead in a Redding home last week.

The Shasta County Coroners Office said 43-year-old Christopher Lee Ruth of Redding was identified. The identification of the second person who was found dead has not been released as deputies say they are a confidential victim.

On April 12, Redding police found Ruth and another person dead in a home on the 900 block of De Moll Drive in Redding.

Police said they received a report from a 16-year-old who said they heard gunshots in the back of the home.

Officers determined it was possibly a murder-suicide and the two people who were found dead were the parents of the 16-year-old, police said.
