Gloversville Mr. John R. Lee, 77, of McLaren Street, Gloversville, NY died tragically on Thursday, June 10, 2022 after being brutally attacked at his home. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on June 17, 1944 he was the son of the late Howard and Dorothy (Rulison) Lee.A lifelong area resident, he graduated from Gloversville High School in 1962. He served his country proudly during the Vietnam War in the United States Air Force. He worked for various local companies including, Coleco, Fiber Glass Industries and lastly NYSID.On September 21, 1974 he married the love of his life, Donna L. (Cole) Lee. Together for nearly all of their lives, they lived a simple life filled with love and humor. John will be remembered for being a true jack of all trades. He enjoyed tinkering on his property and helping others. An avid outdoors man, he loved his motorcycle, boating, camping, snow machining and enjoying life to the fullest. He was always willing to help anyone, never being asked. John will be forever missed by who knew and loved him.He was predeceased by his brother, Charles Chuck Lee.Survivors include his beloved wife, Donna; two daughters, Tammy Patrick and her husband Jan, Tracy Hine and her husband Christopher; three grandchildren, Peter John Wilson, Julia Wilson and McKenna Hine; one great grandchild, Jace Wilson; one brother Albert Lee; dear friends, Bonnie Clizbe, and Linda Bradbury- Danner and her husband John; and cousins.A Service of Remembrance will take place on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY with the Rev. Dr. John H. Danner officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Private burial will take place in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
