Two important birthdays today, and both of them people you've been frightened by at one point or another.

First, Vincent Price was born on this day in 1911.

Price's acting career spanned 50 years, mostly playing spooky old magicians and mysterious inventors. He died in 1993.

You know what else? Price also wrote and published recipe books, served on an Arts Council established by Eisenhower, was an outspoken advocate for PFLAG and championed greater visibility for the arts among the public.

Vincent Price, y'all. Badass.

Also! Christopher Lee was born on this day in 1922. He was in The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars and tons of other stuff.

Let's be honest, though, he's best in The Wicker Man. Related: it's been too long since you watched The Wicker Man.

And oh look, "The Raven" is back.

Tomorrow: Ray Bradbury's Memory Lane.
