Odessa couple arrested on charges of hurting girl – Odessa American

The stepfather and mother of a little girl were arrested on accusations that they severely burned her right hand with scalding water.

Christopher Lee Williams, 34, and Ellie Jean Williams, 26, were arrested on warrants for their reported connection with injuring the girl in their Goldsmith home Monday. Ector County Sheriffs authorities did not specify how old the girl was in a press release.

Williams was arrested on suspicion of first-degree injury to a child, while his wife was arrested on a charge of endangerment to a child, a state fail felony.

Hospital staffers at Medical Center Hospital called sheriffs authorities about the girl who was being treated for what was only described as a severe burn to her right hand.

Sheriffs authorities learned a relative went to the Williams home to pick up the girl who was supposed to spend the night with her kids. The girl was already outside when the relative pulled up and Christopher Williams stepped out and reportedly told the relative he punished the girl for accidentally burning her little brother with hot water, the sheriffs office reported.

Christopher Lee Williams reportedly admitted during his interview with sheriffs investigators what hes accused of doing. Williams is suspected of grabbing the girls hand and placing it under hot water while the girls mother never tried to stop him, the sheriffs office reported.

Both suspects are in custody at the Ector County Detention Center. Christopher Lee Williams, 302 N. Odessa St., was being held Friday at the county jail on $125,000 bond. Ellie Williams, who lives at the same address, was also being held Friday at the jail on $30,000 bond.
