Shenandoah motorcycle driver killed in head-on crash – WHSV

SHENANDOAH, Va. (WHSV) UPDATE (7:00 p.m.):

A Shenandoah man riding a motorcycle was killed on Tuesday night after a head-on collision with a car.

Christopher Lee Shifflett, 30, of Shenandoah was killed when a vehicle in the opposite direction collided into his motorcycle head-on, according to a Virginia State Police official. The state police official said the driver Michael Anderson, 45, of Waynesboro was driving along the wrong side of the road. Investigators tell WHSV Anderson initially lied about his name.

As of Tuesday night, investigators were looking into the events leading to the crash. Charges are pending, according to police.

It is the third fatality involving a motorcycle in the county this year, according to state police.

Emergency crews responded to a crash involving a motorcycle and vehicle shortly after 5:00 on Tuesday night , according to 911 dispatchers. At least one person is dead, according to a Virginia State Police official.

The 900 block of Rinacas Corner Road in Shenandoah is closed because of the crash.

No word if there are others who were injured in the crash.
