Star Wars Writer Reveals What Count Dooku’s Origin Story Would Be Like – Epicstream

Count Dooku might have been underutilized in George Lucas Star Wars prequel trilogy, but the former Padawan of Yoda who turned to the Dark Side after becoming disillusioned with the Jedi Order is by no means any less interesting than say, Darth Maul or Darth Vader.

Speaking in an interview with Inverse, Star Wars comic book writer and novelist Michael Moreci talks about his ongoing work in the galaxy far, far away, Star Wars: Adventures: The Clone Wars Battle Tales. During the discussion with the entertainment news outlet, Moreci is asked about how he handles Count Dooku in the comics, and whether hed ever write Dookus origin story.

Responding to Inverse Happy Hour host Jake Kleinman, Moreci admits that theres a lot of pressure to capture Christopher Lees personality in the comics though he does enjoy the work because hes such a robust personality that you can hear that Christopher Lee-ism in your head.

According to Moreci, he imagines Dooku would have this inner layer of darkness even as a young man who finds himself joining the Jedi.

Getting a young Dooku, to see his upbringing in a live-action series, like pre-prequel stuff hes sort of an evil guy underneath, but he gets involved in the Jedi Order nonetheless, he envisions, and you see him evolve to what he ultimately becomes that would be amazing.

It would certainly be interesting to see that kind of origin story on the small screen. We wonder whether Lucasfilm would ever consider a series for the Sith Lord.

The Skywalker saga is available for streaming on Disney+.
