A chase through downtown Belton ends with two arrested.

Belton Police were notified by The Anderson County Sheriff's Office around 7pm Saturday night about a vehicle that had been stolen at gunpoint.

An hour later, Belton PD located the stolen truck along Campbell Street, tried to make a traffic stop but the suspect took off.

A chase ensued through downtown Belton, the suspect slamming into a police cruiser, totaling the vehicle and injuring the officer.

Finally at the intersection of Meeks and O'Neal Police were able to disable the truck.

Two suspects were found, both uncooperative and a struggle took place according to reports.

A second officer was injured.

Once in custody, Christopher Lee Campbell of Belton and a juvenile, were taken to AnMed for treatment.

Campbell later was booked into the Anderson County Detention Center and now faces a multitude of charges including Assault on a Police Officer.

The juvenile was released to the custody of their guardian.
